Christian Dog Training & Boarding

I boarded my 2 dogs with her over Christmas, one of which is a hound that I had told her that I found about 7 months ago in the middle of the road in Buffalo gap and have nursed back to health as he was extremely skinny. And told her that my smaller dog has been running him off of his food some so to watch for that when they eat. I checked on my dogs while on my Christmas week vacation and everything seemed fine but when I picked them up, Melissa the owner of the boarding and training company told me that she found a post on the Tuscola lost pets page about a dog that looked just like my dog and that there was a lady that was looking for him, and that I might want to look into it. So I went and looked for the post and the posts she was referring to were "found dog" posts of my dog from back in JUNE when I found him. What she didn't know is that I had him checked for a chip, and I myself had responded to some of those posts looking for an owner, and I found out who had currently been trying to take care of him and he was given to me because the lady who was trying to take care of him could not keep him fenced. So when I brought the fact that I looked for the post she told me about and found it from back in June and that I had found who was taking care of him and he was given to me, and that her going and looking for posts of lost dogs thinking I just took someone's dog and kept it made me feel very uneasy and put off and that it wasn't right, she told me she didn't want me back on her property! So I would not trust her if you board your dog with her if you "found" and rescued" the dog because she will try to find lost dog posts matching your dog and then try to lie and say that she doesn't have time to look for them and that it just "popped up" on her Facebook and that she just told you out of the goodness of her heart. I had already decided to never board my dogs with her again before I confronted her about it and she told me she didn't want me back on her property.

Melissa did an outstanding job with our Cavalier pup! We became fast friends with her whole family because of her special attention to each dog and family! Melissa trained Charles as a service dog. She was extremely professional and efficient. I could not ask for a better trainer. My dog Charles loves her and wants to go with her when she comes to visit me. We have become very close friends. She takes care of Charles at my house when I go out of town. She is very trustworthy. If you use her you won’t be disappointed.

Melissa did a 1 on 1 assessment with my goldendoodle and then created a training plan. His behaviors are so much better now. I would highly recommend her all your dog training needs!

She knows the behaviors and the reasons the dogs are behaving in certain situations, and she knows to use positive reinforcement to get the correct behaviors as well as extinguish undesirable behaviors. She is extremely pleasant to work with, which is great because she has to teach the owner as well as the dog.
