The K9 Approach

Transformational experience! Megan at The K9 Approach worked wonders with my German Shepherd, Aspen. After a two-week board-and-train at her home, Aspen is a different dog—responsive, calm, and confident. She understands what I’m asking and reliably follows through, which means we can now enjoy restaurants together, go off-leash at the beach, and say yes to so many more adventures. Megan’s home provided the perfect mix of structure and fun—clear expectations, lots of love, and healthy socialization with other dogs. She communicated consistently, sending daily photos and videos so I felt connected to Aspen’s progress the whole time. Equally valuable, Megan trained me too, with follow-up sessions in a home setting and in public so I knew exactly how to maintain the results. Pricing was also more affordable than competitors, and she and her business partner, Jillian, offer additional services (overnight boarding, private training, etc.), which gives me peace of mind for the future. All in all, 10/10. I’m so grateful we did this—highly recommend Megan and The K9 Approach!

I entrusted my two beloved dogs, Linc (a large German Shepherd) and Coco (a little Chihuahua mix), to Jillian during our 10-day family vacation. Linc, who doesn’t quite grasp his own size or the concept of personal space, and Coco, who’s wary of strangers, couldn’t have been in better hands. Jillian’s care was exceptional. She sent regular text updates complete with adorable pictures, putting my mind at ease while I was away. Her patience with both dogs was remarkable, and it’s clear she has a genuine gift for working with animals. I highly recommend The K9 Approach, especially if you want your furry companions to receive top-notch care and attention. 🐾

I actually met Jillian through my own business... she was looking for some artificial grass. However we got to talking about my pain in the butt dog and she was so nice to chat with me for 15-20mins about different tools I can use to help get my dog's energy down when we have visitors. She was so awesome to chat with. I can tell she has so much experience and knows her dogs very well. I will be using The K9 Approach in the future.

There are not enough stars to give for our experience with Jillian. She. Is. Amazing. Absolutely top notch. She’s warm, communicative, and friendly… and that’s before she even met our dog. She picked up our pup for a 2 week board and train and I still am in a little bit of disbelief regarding how much progress he made. He went in a boisterous lovely 4 month old puppy and came out able to control his impulses (within reason!), walk on and off leash and respond to verbal commands. He LOVED Jillian and we could tell she felt the same. It was important to us that she cared for “him” in addition to his training. We feel like we hit the jackpot with Jillian. She is worth every single penny.

This place is special for my dogs (Hammie and Nilla) and it brings our family so much peace of mind to know that Megan is caring for them. We met Megan before the pandemic when searching for an off leash trainer for our older corgi. After a 2 week boot camp with Megan, Nilla was a different dog (in all the right ways). She was still loyal, loving, and attached to her family, but she was also obedient and finally a pleasure to walk and take to busy places like parks and shopping centers. When we got our second dog it wasn't even a question.. He went for training as soon as he was past puppyhood. Beyond training, Megan has cared for our dog while traveling for many weeks. Even though she lives well over an hour away from my home, I gladly make the drive - Because she put in the time to build a relationship with my dogs. They love her and I know they are safe and happy with her. They always come back a little more well behaved too :) Thanks K9 Approach - so happy we found you!
