Austinite Dogstead

I am a neighbor of Austinite Dogstead and feel a responsibility to share my experiences regarding the safety and supervision of the pets in their care. Since October 2024, I have witnessed multiple instances of dogs running loose and unattended in the street. In October, I found two dogs loose at 1:00 AM; despite cars being in the driveway, no one answered the door when I tried to alert them. Most recently, on Monday, Dec 22, 2025, around 9:00 AM, I found three large dogs roaming the street without any supervision (photo attached). I attempted to secure them with leashes and treats, but they fled toward South Congress; an extremely high traffic area. When I alerted the staff, they were unable to retrieve the dogs and returned to the facility empty handed. This situation was serious enough that 311 directed me to call 911, and an officer was dispatched to the scene. While I have not personally witnessed the mishandling of animals, other neighbors have shared disturbing reports of dogs being kicked and mistreated. Given the lack of containment and the near misses with traffic I have personally seen, I strongly suggest finding a more secure and professional environment for your pets.

Omg, my baby was taken care of so well here! I’ve never left him anywhere where he came back so happy—it was like I never left! There were so many dogs for him to play with and a huge backyard where they all had a blast. The staff treated him like their own. If I could give a 6th star, I would!

I can’t say enough great things about Adam! From the moment I walked in, I knew my dog was in the best hands. Adam and his team are incredibly knowledgeable, friendly, and genuinely care about the well-being of every dog that walks through their door. My dog Shady, who is usually anxious around new people, warmed up to them immediately. They go above and beyond, providing not just basic care but also personalized attention and love. The facility is safe and large enough for them to run around and have fun letting all their energy out. I also love the daily updates and photos they send—they really put my mind at ease when I’m away. It’s clear that this is not just a business, but a place where dogs are treated like family. I wouldn’t trust anyone else with my pup. Highly recommend!

Amazing place would recommend this for everyone ! Took great care of my 2 dogs while I was away, kept me updated with photos and texts throughout the day with what my dogs are doing and the place was very clean. Definitely will be coming here again! Thank you Adam for your hospitality!

Austinite Dogstead is a hidden gem! Not only do they provide exceptional care for dogs, but their small homestead, complete with chickens, goats, and a garden, adds a unique charm to the experience. My dog came home happy and enriched. Highly recommend!
