(from Google)If you need a local place to take your dog, it is a decent option. They always have availability for doggy day camp and boarding spots. The cameras work well and you can leave your dog for 12 hours to play. However, the front desk staff is very rude. You are not going to feel warm and welcome when dropping off your dog. Majority of the time, they do not even acknowledge you when you walk through the door. The rude attitudes make me want to drive further to take my dog somewhere else, but I continue to go to this location because it is near my work and I cannot be late for my job. If the staff was friendlier and the play area had more to offer, I would give the location a better rating.
Sunday LOVES her human and pup friends at Camp Bow Wow. The staff is always accommodating. We heavily utilized day camp during a construction project at our home when we knew our dog would be safe and happy at Bow Wow. We’ve also used and will continue to board her when we travel. She comes home tired and still wagging her tail every time. Make sure you check out their packages as the pricing gets better the more you buy. They’re also extremely flexible with utilizing your days!
I cannot in good conscience recommend Camp Bow Wow in Cary. On my dog’s third day at this location, she was bitten on her side by another dog at around 12 PM, and staff did not notice until three hours later. Watching the footage myself, it’s clear she was already showing signs of retreating, keeping her distance, and being less active, laying down very often in the yard... yet no one intervened. The daycare’s supervision and care during this incident were clearly inadequate. We tried this location because our usual daycare was booked for Thanksgiving. My dog has attended camp since she was three months old, including other Camp Bow Wow locations in other states, without issue. She is extremely submissive, and even in this instance, the footage shows her trying to get away. The bite required two staples at the vet, and the vet confirmed it was clearly a bite. While the owner has covered vet costs and refunded the boarding deposit plus the day of camp when it happened, they refused to refund the other two days. Considering the lapse in supervision and the trauma caused, this feels completely unreasonable given our experience as a brand new customer. I want to be clear though that we appreciate them paying for the vet bill and taking care of everything else, as they should - and they did do the right thing in those instances. The video footage quality is also poor. You can’t slow it down enough to get the best picture possible, and there are SEVERAL blind spots where you can't see where the dogs are at all times. What if this happened OFF CAMERA? I also don’t know if the dog responsible has been removed from camp, which is concerning. They can address that situation/provide an update. The daycare’s core responsibility is to provide a safe, controlled environment. Since my dog was injured without staff awareness, that standard was not met — even on previous days. I am concerned for any other pet left in their care. I sincerely hope they address these serious safety issues, but I personally cannot recommend bringing your dog here.
I’ve been taking my dog to Camp Bow Wow for 5+ years and the Cary location is the best in the triangle! We now have 2 dogs boarding there and they love the enrichments. The team at CBW are always kind and helpful. We’ve moved farther way from the location and haven’t been able to find anything better, so we make a 30m+ drive for them to stay. Thank you CBW!!
Camp Bow Wow in Cary, NC is fantastic ♥️ I work a lot and my Howie (1 yr old mutt) has been going for doggie daycare here for over a year now. He LOVES going to “school” and is always anxiously running to the door ahead of me. I love the cameras, and being able to check in and watch him play. They get a ton of play time on full-days (Mon-Sat). Sundays are half-days but by then, he needs a little more chill/rest time. Staff is fantastic, give good daily feedback with any highlights or issues, the app works great to book. I’ve boarded a few times and I know not sleeping in his own bed is hard for him, but I’m thankful and relieved on trips knowing he’s in great hands! Definitely recommend 🙌🏻
