Corteva Wetlands Preserve

The Corteva Agriscience Wetlands Preserve ENTRANCES are HARD to find and the address for this Preserve listing is currently (11/2025) set on the middle of the Preserve trail area/W. 4th Street, Antioch and not near one of the entrances. TWO ENTRANCES to park at and enter on foot: 2674 W. 10th Street, Antioch. Small dirt parking lot on the side of the road. Brown sign present. 11/2025: it needs to be confirmed if this entrance always has a locked gate and you can only enter by climbing over the waist high fence, which would be breaking the rules. And Antioch Marina Harbor: Corner of parking lot, sidewalk path labeled with blue sign for "Veteran's Memorial, Bird Viewing Area." Sidewalk takes you through grass park area of the Marina. Blue sign present in the field marks the beginning of the Preserve trail. 11/2025: I confirm this entrance is open during daylight hours. My only issue with this place is that it isn't well marked in person and currently on Google Maps. I think both entrances should have an accurate Google Maps listing.

The Corteva Wetlands Preserve is a serene and beautiful refuge that reminds us what Antioch is capable of. While much of the Bay Area races ahead with new developments and glittering downtowns, Antioch can sometimes feel like it's been left behind: forgotten in the shuffle of progress. But this wetland stands as a quiet counterpoint to that narrative. Just like the meaning behind the name "Antiochus"—from the Greek roots anti (against) and ekhein (to hold); thus, this place holds out against the tides of neglect and change. It's a symbol of resilience, both ecological and civic. Clean trails, abundant birdlife, peaceful water views, and well-preserved native habitat make it a real point of pride for the community.

What a great little walk next to an amazing restaurant and marina. Once you pass the planks of doom lol the walk on solid ground is a piece of cake.

(Google maps says closed but it was open when I went in March 2025)This is a hidden gem, the trailhead is just past the playground near the Marina. It has viewing platforms, benches, a picnic table area a pond and art made out of stacked wood. The area isn't huge but I got a couple miles worth of steps in walking around exploring it.

It was difficult to find detailed info about this park. The website is vague. There are no maps posted in or around the park. The entrance is not clearly marked. It looks like you need to hop a fence to get in...but you don't. Park in the Antioch marina parking lot. Wander into the park on the west side of the parking lot. You'll find the trail entrance outside of the paved path area. All areas are pretty flat, very slight, and few inclines. Parts of the path are on foot bridges, so solid wood surfaces. There are many benches and few lookout perches. There were 2 volunteers maintaining the trail while we were there. I love marshes and wetlands the best because there are always lots of animals to see!
