This is a beautiful spot. I had low expectations, but the water temperature was perfect and it was a beautiful spot for a family picnic and swim.

We went here this morning and waded in the water and enjoyed the sand. I used the women’s washroom and it had 3 stalls, the last being big enough for a handicapped person. I noticed handicapped parking and also the bathroom for the women had outlets by the sinks so if you wanted to change and dry hair you could. There isn’t a table to put a change of clothes but it’s a washroom on the beach. There were some sticks and a few leaves floating in the sand but it’s water and that’s what you are gonna get. There’s a place to launch a boat or a kayak. They have picnic tables and some open grills and playgrounds scattered throughout for kids.A lot of people were there enjoying it by swimming and boating also sunbathers soaking up sun. Growing up on a lake I can’t understand the bad reviews. This place is nice and everyone that was there enjoying it was very friendly when I said hello. For me I had a great experience and my husband and I definitely want to come here and kayak the Lake. If you want to come here I would say do so just know it’s not a “glam camping beach” it’s a great little area to sit and enjoy.

What a nasty place!! No handicapped parking and people double parking everywhere! I could not walk to the beach from where we had to park , so I stayed in the car while my family went and played in the water for a bit. I could never have walked back up that hill to get to the only restroom there!! I really expected it to be better. I haven’t been here in years and it’s actually worse now than I remember. I’ve never seen a bathroom that nasty!Maybe if you charged more you could hire some people!!

Well ... unfortunately the experience that my family encountered today was not a blessed one. So I will go into detail as Google has requested I give a review and response to these problems that hopefully soon will be rectified. 1. The bathrooms that are onsite, mind you, there is only one for the entire swimming area. Which I will add has a lot of people in and out of it and not one person cleaning, sanitizing or replacing toilet paper and no soap...not even a soap dispenser. So next time we go we will have to bring our own supplies. Wow. State taxes Corp of engineers. We definitely need a bathroom check at least 1 time an hour while it's peak season. 2. The beach was at least clean and sand was a decent amount for playing in water as well as for people to build sand castles. However we shall return as there aren't many places to choose from to go swimming fishing and relaxing with family and friends. 3. Handicapped ADA accessible area...this is very much needed and this soon needs to be rectified. So that it will be a more accessible area for handicap patrons that are elderly and cannot walk all the way to the beach from the 200 feet away parking or more to be able to park and enjoy the beach too. There are so many people that would love to enjoy the beach and the view but cannot because of the inaccessibility of the area. 4. The parking at the bathhouse is a cluster mess. Double parking by blocking other vehicles from safely entering and exiting the area. 5. Designated walking areas need improvement. If you walk along the edge of the river you will see where people, over the years, have tread and worn a unlevel path. So this needs to be updated to walk safely as well as for handicap patrons to be able to go look at the water and see the animals safely with their wheelchair/cane etc. So in closing I am leaving this here for others to know 1. Come prepared for the bathroom issues ..bring your own stuff to clean up and wipe 2. Prepare to walk unless you have someone to push you in a wheelchair, but you will not be able to make it to the water...I'm so sorry. No mat to access the water like at other beaches on the coast of Florida and NC/SC. 3. Park and plan to stay a while because someone may block you in and you can't leave if there is an emergency. Ohh and good luck getting 911 to answer because you may not have cell service. I will say that the Hosts at the gate were happy and sincere. They definitely love their position for the summer at The Cheatham Dam and Campground. Way 2 Go Workampers !!!!💯🎉 I didn't take my phone into the bathroom nor the lake so I was unable to get photos of the mess. I did however get a great picture of the cruise ship that goes all over America called the American Symphony. Pretty cool for rich people. Like $5000-30000 for a booked trip. Check them out and no this is not a plug for them. I just thought it was a cool ship Anyways thanks again Cheatham County Dam. Hope everyone has a blessed and safe 4th of July 2024🎉

I was looking for a local "swimmin' hole" to take the grandkids for an afternoon swim. This park did not disappoint. The "beach" and roped off swim area were clean and well maintained. There was adequate shade, benches, and covered picnic areas. There are restrooms a short walk from the swim zone. The garbage cans were covered and not overflowing. There is plenty of parking. Mind you, were here on a Tuesday afternoon in July so don't know what it looks like here on a weekend. The day use fee is $5. That's a bargain. I will come here again.
