Carr's Beach is located at Elktonia-Carr’s Beach Heritage Park at Elktonia Park. 7300 Edgewood Road. Do not use Google Maps to try and find.

Elktonia-Carr’s beach. Beautiful beach park that is open to the public. To get there, start at the Annapolis Maritime Museum extra parking lot located at 7300 Edgewood Road, Annapolis MD. Head to the road and use marked crosswalk to cross Bembe Beach Road to a rock driveway. Follow rock drive way to fork, go right at the fork, and follow wood chip path to beach park. In June 2024 there were signs along the path highlighting the history of the site.

My mom and dad use to take me and my brother there and it was so amazing to stars that use to be there, all of my family is gone but me but I thank whoever made that a thing again ! Can’t wait to take my children !

This weekend we celebrated the transfer of Elktonia Carr's Beach to the city of Annapolis as an official heritage park. I'm proud that the city, county, state, and federal government all came together to provide the support needed to preserve the history of this beach, conserve the land, and open it up for the public to enjoy. This historic Black beach was owned and operated by the Carr family from 1926 through the 1960's and provided Black residents a place to enjoy the beach and famous musical acts during the era of Jim Crow segregation. This beach is an important piece of Annapolis and Anne Arundel County history, and we knew we had to preserve it. Thank you to Vincent Leggett and Blacks of the Chesapeake for educating us on our local history and for the years of hard work that led to this moment.
