(from Google)Clean, safe and the downtown area has a great coffee spot
The beach: Filthy. There was sand everywhere. The lake: Soaking wet. I came out completely drenched. The lifeguards: Absolutely egregious. If you wanna be treated badly, go there. The very friendly lifeguards expect you to know unstated rules and get mad at you for having fun. The beach is fun why don't you let us have fun. Overall, my experience was terrible because of these lifeguards. Never coming back.
So vast and so clean! Saw a dead bird but that’s just the circle of life baby !!
Great place to go visit. Is a parking fee. The sand is very soft. Water is clear. And the water is very cool. Will cool you off on a hot day. When the wind is blowing towards shore, which would be from the north and north east winds, and it's a windy day, you will see a lot of waves coming in. Good thing that the wind blows from the south or from the west most of the time during the summer months. There is a lot of shoreline with lots of room.
You are able to get one of the sweetest views of Chicago from here. Gary does get a bad name, yes, but don’t let the media fool you, it’s not all bad. There are plenty are beautiful areas, such as this one, lots of American history, and everyone I’ve met have been great.
