We went on a cold windy day just to see it ( first time) to our surprise there were about seven other cars there Many were fishing. Big beautiful quiet beach. Wi return on a nice day. Plenty of parking and bathrooms right on the beach

Rancho Guadalupe Dunes Preserve is an absolute gem for nature lovers. The dunes stretch for miles, creating a peaceful and scenic landscape that feels untouched and wild. Walking along the sandy paths with the ocean in the distance is incredibly relaxing, and the combination of dunes, wetlands, and coastal views makes every step feel like a new adventure. The preserve is beautifully maintained, with well-marked trails and plenty of spots to stop and enjoy the scenery. Birdwatching and wildlife spotting are highlights, and the quiet, open spaces make it a perfect escape from the hustle and bustle. Whether you’re looking for a leisurely walk or a place to connect with nature, Rancho Guadalupe Dunes Preserve is truly worth a visit.

This was a wonderful visit. It was not busy at all and the breeze felt great. The beach was clean and fresh.

If you're looking for a less populated beach with miles of ocean to walk beside, here is the right place. It's a nice little drive into the parking lot, which features two restrooms and some useful and great information regarding the area. Has plenty of space for families to setup themselves a little area to go play in the beach as well. I walked all the way towards the Point Sal area which is about 2 miles, and another 2 to go back to the start. No parking fees and there is a Ranger usually in the lot keeping an eye on things, making sure things are going smooth. All around a great place if you want to go seaside.
