(from Google)This is a very common peaceful Beach to check out and it doesn't get too overcrowded on the Bay side. You can't go wrong if you come here for free after 5:00 p.m. in the summer or anytime between fall and spring. This is a nice Beach to walk on and look for shells. You always seem to find better flotsam and jetsam on the Bayside of Sandy Hook
If you're visiting with kids, the inland section is the best choice because there are no crashing waves to worry about. The beach is clean, parking and restrooms are available at Lot B. It's just a 5-minute walk to get to the beach after crossing the road. To avoid long wait times, aim to arrive at Rt. 35 before 9 am on Sundays. If you arrive after 9 am, be prepared for a long wait in line, averaging 3 hours or more to enter the park.

It is amazing place if you like calm water, no waves. We love it!
Only place I know of in NJ to watch the sunset over the ocean. Ok its a bay there but so what its still nice
