(from Google)This was the perfect spot for a quick beach day visit. The bathrooms are kept clean and are unlocked for all beach goers to use. The lifeguards are friendly and experienced - they went out and got a little girls llama tube that was floating away…very sweet of them. There is a playground on the beach which is great for younger kids. It’s not a large playground by any means but it gets the job done! A climbing fixture with a few offshoots and a few slides. Behind the bathrooms are two shower heads available for use to clean off the sand before heading home which I really enjoyed. You can take a small stroll along their marina and bask at all the large boats you’d dream to own! Another great feature of this beach is FREE! Along with a parking lot that is also FREE! Next time you’re heading to beach, think about this spot!
It's like your local park to bring the kids , only it happens to be it's own little beach. It has an appropriate size parking lot and bathrooms to easily setup for a relaxing time as the kiddies play in the sand and small playground set, or go fishing off the pier for you older kids. This local beach is at it's BEST during the summer where every Friday night, "Tony Mart Presents" hosts world known musicians to come rock out under the pale moon light. True Magic
I gave up on the Longport dog park for lack of parking and bathrooms. The lifeguards {they complimented on her calm demeanor as well) were nice enough to allow me and my service dog there as long as she remained on leash. She found her spot for rest of summer 😍
The posting of hours for the actual beach is pretty unclear. Also, the beach is really small and very dirty, the sand is very rough. There were trashed cigarettes and used condoms all over the ground. I'm sure William Morrow is different in the fishing standards, I wouldn't know. Unrelated to the park itself, a man was like an inch away from backing into my car in the parking lot, as me honking (luckily being IN the car) saved us. On the bright side, if you're not too picky about your beaches, there's not a whole lot of people there, parking is free, and there are a few picnic tables.
Today's Adventure 🌊 I know these are a lot of pictures but I wanted to share another little gem of a beach. Somers Point Beach (aka: William Morrow Beach or Municiple Beach) This beach is free and easy access. Great for families with young kids or elderly family members. Parking is right there on the spot and it has all the amenities. It is only 45 miles away and you can get there in an hour using the less busy back roads. There is swimming, fishing, boating, tiki bar boat, restaurants right there, clean restroom building, outside showers, free little library, a weekend farm market, playground, a covered walk-on dock with seats that are in the shade, life guards, a little stage for events. All of this is steps from the car. Here are some pictures in case anyone is interested. #somerspointbeach
