Cove Kitchen + Bar

Renee was the best part of our brunch experience today! She was attentive, engaging, and fun! The food we had today was delicious, as well. She made good suggestions and checked in regularly. We would definitely come back to see Renee.

I’m a local and went for brunch. It’s a cool hangout spot because you’re right on a beach area overlooking the water. It is very touristy but the prices were really great. My husband and I ate for $36 plus tip but if you’re driving a vehicle it’s $15 to valet. They have inside & outside seating. Restaurant is located inside a resort. As a local, you instantly feel like you’re on vacation too! The staff was super friendly.

This place is absolutely amazing. There is free live music with an actual good band. All of the food is fresh. We ordered the grouper and the Keylime pie. He forgot to take photos of the food. Our server Renee was so personable and helpful and patient with us as we tried to figure out what to order. She also made suggestions of local activities. We will definitely be coming back. Be sure to come at night so you can get a view of the sunset and the gas powered lanterns.

Blaine was awesome! Super nice and accommodating to my wife's very "particular" pallet. Wonderful fresh (like 5 minutes before we arrived) juiced cucumbers in our beautiful spicy skinny Margaritas. (Custom Made by Blaine!!!) Excuse me while I kiss the sky... worth the 30 minute wait on the causeway!

Honest Review from 1/24/26: We had an 8:30 pm reservation at Shepard’s Cove Kitchen and Bar to celebrate our anniversary. We were seated immediately, but then sat for about 20 minutes without being acknowledged, despite servers repeatedly walking past us to take care of the table in front of us, and even the table behind us, who was seated after we were. When we brought this up to the hostess, she admitted she forgot to let the servers know we had been seated. Ironically, the waitress who had already taken the order of the table behind us ended up being our server. As someone who has worked in restaurants, it was disappointing…as a server, paying attention to your surroundings is part of the job. There were only two servers on the floor, and both passed our table multiple times without stopping. Once service finally began, it continued to fall short. We were forgotten about for long stretches of time, struggled to get refills or place additional drink orders, and constantly felt like we had to chase down our waitress. To “make up” for the experience, the restaurant took a little less than 3.5% off our bill…about $5. Nothing on the menu costs $5, and not even a single drink was comped, which felt dismissive given the situation. Adding to the disappointment, we were seated outside hoping for a beach view, but instead our view was blocked by several bottles of cleaning sprays and supplies lined up on the railing—at least four that I counted (picture shows 3, the others were off to the side). People choose outdoor seating to enjoy the scenery, not to stare at cleaning products, and it completely ruined the ambiance. That said, the drinks were good and the food was the highlight of the evening. I had the Korean BBQ salmon, my date ordered the Cove’s fancy fried shrimp, and we shared the appetizer sampler, everything tasted very good and helped salvage the night. Overall, I’d give the service 2 stars, but the food earns a solid 4.5 stars.
