Rumba Island Bar & Grill

We had a great experience eating dinner and grabbing drinks at Rumba! The place is uniquely decorated with a tiki theme. They have a large outdoor area with a Tiki bar, palm trees, and a large parking lot on both sides of the restaurant. Parking can be a bit difficult during peak hours. The outdoor seating does offer fans for cooling and umbrellas to offer a bit of shade. Inside, it’s just as busy and is a bit cooler. We had great service, and she was attentive and friendly. She checked on us frequently. We ordered several different types of drinks, as well as foods. The mini corn bread bites were an excellent start. Our favorite was the hogfish - we ordered both a killer hogfish sandwich as well as the calypso bay hogfish. Both are highly recommended. Our friends also enjoyed their island smokin’ meatloaf and twin filet kabobs. We really had no complaints about any of the food! Overall, we really enjoyed our dinner and will definitely be back more frequently!

They do have a large outdoor area with Tiki bar, palm trees, and a large parking lot that shields the seating area from the rather lively intersection of Gulf to bay and South Keene. Sitting at the outdoor bar you can easily forget that you are not at the beach (at least a couple drinks in). The atmosphere is relaxed, the servers attentive, and they do have some local beers in cans. The last time I visited they had each a beer from Green Bench and Cigar City on tap. The vegetarian pickings are rather slim (even when you tolerate eggs and dairy), but I got lucky and our server steered me towards a rice bowl topped with vegetables. Overall not too inspired but plentiful and the veggies came mixed with fruit, which provided the dish with a kick it needed to go from meh to good.

Outstanding service and an exceptional dining experience. The food arrived hot, fresh, and packed with flavor. We ordered the scallops and the hogfish, and both were absolutely incredible. I’ve had seafood many times, but I’ve never experienced scallops or hogfish with this much flavor. The staff was attentive, friendly, and provided excellent service from start to finish. Highly recommend!

I’ve been eating at Rumba for years and it’s seriously one of the best spots in Tampa Bay. I’m totally serious when I say I’d recommend it to anyone—no matter what you’re in the mood for, they’ve got you covered. The food is super fresh, super clean, and honestly, the chefs know their stuff. Plus, it’s always packed, which just proves how good they are. Keep doing an amazing job, you guys! 👏

Well wow!! We've driven by this place a million times always wanted to go here decide to stay one more day so I treated my wife to rumba!! It did not disappoint cool atmosphere sitting outside warm breeze, palm trees... service was impeccable, drinks were great! then there's why we came the food! It was outstanding a great price lots of food lobster tail was terrific steaks were cooked perfect as we ordered! The sides were terrific, My black beans were awesome , mywife's Mexican street corn was delicious, french fries are pretty good too!Next time I think we are going to just stop for those unbelievable nachos that we had for appetizer and just get a few drinks! Oh they were so good.. But then everything was great Can't wait to go back next time we're in town!
