Slick Pig BBQ

We ate catfish dinners there two months ago early evening on a Saturday. The service was very good on both visits. The fish was sliced thin but crispy and the fish itself was firm. Overall the food was good. So, we went back on Wednesday, 5-20-26, at 5:15 or so. My wife ordered a 2-piece catfish dinner that came from the kitchen and I had the AYCE catfish meal that came from a table in the right rear corner of the dining room. Her and my fish was only warm. All of the fish was so "rubbery" we couldn't cut it with the knife and had to pick it up to eat it. All of the fish was cut very thin with some "curled up" tails having no fish in them. The hushpuppies were cold, small, hard balls. We won't be back!

Great food, great service. Tuesday's special is amazing! Get the coconut cake!!! It's made daily and is like a beautiful cloud in your mouth! Brisket is tender. Pork is delicious. The beans were great. Hush puppies need improvement. Small and dry. Their vinegar based BBQ sauce is very tasty but I wish it had a kick. The clientele/patrons are a bit racist. There were several comments from seated patrons, within our earshot that made our entire family and group feel so uncomfortable that we chose to get the food to go. We didn't want the opinions of those lesser than to tarnish the foods reputation. The staff were kind.

The smoked wings are AMAZING! they're like succulent mini turkey legs. The hush puppies and potato salad also had an originality to the recipes that was delightful. The fried fish had a nice batter, and the fried green tomatoes are great! The ribs were ok. Some sweetness to the glaze.

My husband and I love the brisket plate. Their onion rings are thick and heavy with lots of onion slices. I love their fried green tomatoes, they are the best I've ever had! Our son was with us and he got the rib plate which was on special. As he went to pick up a rib, all of the meat fell off the bone because it was so tender. This is a great, family-owned business with wonderful food!

Always great BBQ and sides from the Slick Pig... Wings and banana pudding are really good too. I had one pick up order that got goofed, but they quickly made it right... great service! They also do whole smoked turkeys during Thanksgiving which makes it very convenient. Definitely recommended!
