(from Google)Great food and nice sidewalk dining area. The service was next level by the host and especially Rachel who took the absolute best care of us. Shared a French dip with tots after artichoke spinach dip that was super. Followed it with apple pear crisp ala mode that was such a great dessert. Rachel kept everything timed perfectly for a nice dinner. Thank you!
We went here today for a late lunch. We both got drinks on the happy hour menu - both were good. My boyfriend got fried pickles as an appetizer and he said they were tasty. I got the macaroni and cheese and it was delicious! My boyfriend got the meatloaf and was impressed by the amount of food he got. He said all of it was good. The service was good, the staff was friendly and it’s a nice environment. I’d definitely come here again!
The food was seriously so good! We had the smoked salmon appetizer, spicy chicken sandwich and steak sandwich! We are from Iowa but would absolutely revisit this place if we come back to the area! The atmosphere was cute but we were right up front and it just seemed like a lot of in and out traffic is all. (Which speaks volumes for the place)
Overall, the service was good. They were accommodating with dogs on the outside patio. The wait time was reasonable for it being dinner time. The tater tots were good. It definitely is a savory type of food and not too greasy or salty. I like the accommodation with the salmon I replaced with mashed potatoes. I will say the only complaints would be the veggies being a bit bland as well as mashed potatoes. I think the chunks of shallots are hard to eat as it gave very onion pungent taste. It would be nice if they were thinly sliced and sautéed further to bring out more of a sweetness. The person with me ordered the same just with rice. I found their salmon to be charred compared to mine. I think for me the burnt parts of the salmon were not great. Also the bed of rice I found mushy. Which I don’t know if it’s how it normally is but it seemed like more risotto than your typical steamed rice.
Been coming here periodically for about 10 years. The setup changes periodically so it gets a nice refresh. We used to come here for lunch when I worked downtown. Good lunch. Tonight, we had salmon crostini off the happy hour menu. Great price for salmon. Three good size portions if you are sharing. For entrees, we had the Chef's Caesar Salad which was a good portion and tasty. More than I could finish. And the Meatloaf and Mac. WOW soooo sooo good. The mashed potatoes, gravy, and vegetables that came with this meal were out off this world. The meatloaf and mac-n-cheese were great, especially with the gravy. I'd like to buy that by the bottle. We both plan to get that next time. Our compliments to the chef. The wait staff was great. Attentive but not intrusive. Truly interested in whether we were enjoying our food. The environment was great. Historic, cozy, great place for a date, a meeting/party or by yourself. Definitely recommend.
