(from Google)We’ve been regulars of The Gulf for almost two decades, and it has seasoned like a fine wine through the years…only getting better as it grows. I can actually remember when it was just a shipping container. There’s a reason why it’s packed from open to close, but that doesn’t stop them from continuously serving some of the best food and drinks along the water. The service is always top notch, and their efficiency is astonishing to be as busy as they are. We typically sit at the bar, but sometimes we like to take the fur babies out in the sand. The Gulf is one of the few places that is truly dog friendly (BTW) and our pups pitch a fit when they don’t get to go with us 🐾 Matt and Nancy at the bar are the best and two of our faves! They’re always friendly and serve up the fun with such personality! We 🩷 them! We 🩷 The Gulf! Consistent. Predictable. THE ABSOLUTE BEST.
My husband brought me here to meet his friends he worked in the past for a visit. While here he meet up with Chef Mike and the reunion was on😄, but THE FOOD WAS AMAZING🤩!!! LIKE OMG😳 AMAZING!!! THANK YOU MIKE FOR THIS AMAZING MEAL🫶🏾🙏🏾🫶🏾❤️🔥❣️
We went to The Gulf mainly for the atmosphere and wanting to be outside by the water. When you walk up, it's a little confusing as to where to go, but there are workers standing nearby to help direct you to the walk up counter. You'll see the drink bar on the right and can sit there and drink and eat if you would like. When you get up to the counter, they'll take your order then you'll serve yourself the fountain drink, take your pager to the table and set it on a blue circle, which then notified them where you're seated and where to bring the food. There are many, many seat options available for large or small groups as well as seats with shade and without. We ordered the shrimp and the cheeseburger as well as hand cut fries. The cheeseburger only came with lettuce, tomato, and a sauce, so you will have to ask for any extra ingredients on your burger (ketchup, mustard, etc). The fries are big enough that you could share. It was good food, the staff was very friendly, and a nice atmosphere during the day.
The Gulf was a great dinner spot in Orange Beach. We came in early evening and had a wonderful experience. We sat outside by the bar, and one thing we really liked was that in certain seating areas near the bar, you can place your food order right there and have it delivered to you. That was a huge plus and much more convenient than standing in line at the window. The food was excellent and had great flavor across the board. The portions were more than enough to fill us up, which made the experience even better. On top of that, the atmosphere was hard to beat. Being able to sit outside, relax, and watch the boats coming in and out made for a really enjoyable view and added so much to the overall experience. Great food, great setup, and a great waterfront atmosphere. We would definitely recommend The Gulf to anyone looking for a fun and relaxing place to eat
We visited on our first day and overall had a great experience! The vibes here are so fun and inviting—it’s such a cute spot and definitely one of those places you want to hang out for a while. The food was really good, and the service was great as well—everyone we interacted with was friendly and attentive. My only suggestion would be adding more heaters. I know it’s a beach spot, but it was pretty cold the night we visited, and there were only a few heated tables plus one area around the campfire. A few more options would’ve made the experience even better. Overall, we really enjoyed it and would definitely come back!
