(from Google)We had a lovely lunch at this cafe. We had the excellent soup of the day, which was steelhead chowder, and a lingonberry cosmopolitan cocktail. Service was friendly and the outdoor seating was very enjoyable!
What a fantastic breakfast we had! I had the lost eggs with mushrooms. This dish is so complex and flavorful. I highly recommend it. My wife had the smoked trout eggs Benedict and she loved it. The matcha latte was a real treat by itself. They also bake their own bread and it shows, so good! I’ve been to their Clinton St and their Astoria locations and they never disappoint. Can’t wait to come back.
Went on a very busy Saturday, parking was difficult to find but for how busy it was, a wait time of 40 minutes was not that bad. The property had a fun Moomin exhibit inside the main building by the dining area and a quaint bit of trail to explore while waiting for the table. The servers were all incredibly kind and fun, and our drinks and food came out in a timely manner. Everything was delicious! The building itself had a modern yet warm atmosphere. I would definitely recommend checking this place out, just be prepared to fight for parking or park farther away (it's worth it!).
Brŏder Sŏder is a hidden gem (like "You're not in Beaverton anymore, Dorothy") in the Scandinavian Nordia House cultural center. From the stunning entryway to the last bite of Æbleskiver, what a wonderful brunch experience. The dishes were elegant with simple, fresh ingredients. Beautiful presentation and flavors. Service was welcoming with attention to detail. The atmosphere: the wood-slat ceiling and décor brings warmth to the large, open space. Loved that there was a hum of chatter with music at the perfect volume for a convo (Solsbury Hill, Peter Gabriel; Both Sides Now, Tonic Mitchell; Lady, The Commodores). Can't wait to go back.
Broder Soder is amazing not just from a food and beverage perspective (which is delicious), but also from a cultural perspective. Since they don't do reservations at time of writing, there's likely always a bit of a wait, and immersing yourself in the cultural offerings and the Ole Bolle Troll are a wonderful way to pass the time. The food itself is incredible. The lefse plate is delicious and savory, and I can't recommend the lox sandwich any higher- just as good as the old historical benchmarks in NYC, although a different styling, of course. The drinks are also a delight- Holiday Gogg was yummy and warming, and the hot chocolate and mochas were amazing and soothing. The abelskiver is a must-buy and is the perfect start to your meal and always a delight! Cannot recommend any higher!
