(from Google)One of my favorite places in Portland. Excellent beer, solid pub food, and amazing atmosphere - somehow this old warehouse turned brewery has survived the real estate gentrification onslaught. Go LL!
While service with a terse smile is forgivable, even understood, on a surprisingly busy Wednesday night, the "mezze" plate was not. I am not sure how hummus could be described as wet, but... the breadsticks were oddly congealed vaguely yeast like creations, I was appalled at their appearance next to crudite... which wound up being canned sliced black olives, huge chucks of feta, and sad pepperonicinis. When the delightful part of an appetizer plate is how the cucumbers are cut and look ON the plate, there's a problem. Sorry, Lucky Lab, your offerings do not feel that Lucky.
The beer was tasty and refreshing, and the food didn’t disappoint either! I was especially impressed by the salad—it was fresh, generously portioned, and packed with a great variety of ingredients. The Latin soup was a standout: rich, flavorful, and comforting. The outdoor seating area really adds to the experience. It’s spacious, full of greenery and colorful flowers, creating a relaxed, welcoming vibe. It’s the kind of place that’s perfect for spending an afternoon with a group of friends, enjoying good food, drinks, and conversation.
This place is not really for vegans. Though, there are some vegan options that are on the menu. It's a great place to meet up with several folks, given the long sort of communal tables. The vegan pizza and salad served at the event I attended at Lucky Labrador Beer Hall was okay. The staff were super friendly, prompt and service and accommodating!
I would rate the pizza 5 star. It was really good. Surprisingly good. Our group got a vegetarian pizza, and it was one of the best veggies I ever had. The meat pizza was even better IMHO. The ambiance of the place was really good with dog posters plastered all around. It had that old refurbished ex manufacturing facility Warehouse converted to a brewery type of feel. It is peak Portland but excellent. The staff was nice as well. I would come back again.
