Jimmy's Tacos

Highly recommend! The food is fresh and full of flavor. Had the snapper tacos and they were cooked to perfection with the zesty sauce. They have another location in ybor and I find the quality is consistent with their other location. Its family owned and love supporting small businesses. Would definitely come back again to try more of their food!

​While I always try to appreciate and support family-owned businesses, our experience at Jimmy's Taco was incredibly disappointing from start to finish. It was the worst mistake, and we feel we completely wasted our time sitting there. ​The staff appears wholly untrained and uneducated in general customer service and the hospitality industry. Our server, Larry, seemed totally lost, confused, and uncomfortable with the menu. The first major issue arose when we had been waiting 20 minutes for our appetizers. We finally had to speak up, only for them to realize the food had never actually been put into the system. ​Eventually, Lauren came over to our table. I am not sure if she is a manager or what her exact role is, because at no point did she introduce herself or actually converse with us. While I do appreciate her comping our first order of drinks and the late appetizers, the entire atmosphere felt terribly rushed, as if they were just trying to push people through the door. Because of the initial inconvenience, Lauren offered to get us another round of drinks—but then forgot one of them. If you are trying to recover from a mistake and smooth things over, why wouldn't you do everything in your power to make it right, like simply checking the tab to verify the drink order? ​To top the whole experience off, the food we did receive was subpar, dry, and burnt. I would honestly starve before I go back. Never again.

I went to the Offline event: Jimmy’s Tacos: A Members Cinco Warm Up Party. The mariachi was great. Unfortunately, everything else fell short. They were caught off guard by the rain and were forced to work around the weather. This confused the staff. It was unclear what staff member was handling the event. Our order wasn’t taken until about 20 minutes and a table change later. Did not expect the “bao” bun to be a greasy piece of toast instead of the soft white bun. There wasn’t any birria consume for the buns. The tacos were okay and the guacamole needed seasoning like salt and cilantro. The passionfruit margarita was delicious and Mike was a great sport despite all the confusion. Personally would not go all the way to St Pete when I enjoy the experience of the Ybor location better. Overall, mid and we couldn’t wait to leave.

Great food. Had the 3 street tacos and drink combo for $13.50! And you can mix and match proteins. They are so dog friendly. We ate outside and the day was beautiful. He had the carne asada burrito and the margaritas were so refreshing. Made with tequila not wine based. We are definitely coming back and don’t need to go to their ybor location anymore!

Great service by great people doing what they love. What more can you ask for other than food food with good people. Family run and local through and through. Hot, fresh, yummy goodness in every layer of flavor!
