Our favorite place to eat in Ventura! The ceviche is a sleeper hit, but everything is great. Additionally they're just the nicest people. My daughter forgot her bag last time we ate there and they packed it up and shipped it to LA for us. I love this place.

I've always loved Dukes. Had their breakfast for the first time and it didn't disappoint. The pierpoint crunch breakfast sandwich was amazing, as well as their breakfast potatoes. I'm also a sucker for fresh squeezed orange juice. 10/10.

Duke’s Beach Grill – Ventura’s Laid-Back Gem by the Sea Tucked just steps from Seaward Beach, Duke’s Beach Grill is a local favorite that blends surf-culture vibes with hearty, satisfying fare. Whether you’re craving fish tacos, burgers, or a cold cocktail, Duke’s delivers with flavor, friendliness, and a relaxed setting perfect for weekend unwinding or casual team outings. 🍽️ Food & Flavor Highlights We sampled a variety of dishes, and each one brought its own personality to the table: • Fish Tacos with Creamy Chipotle Sauce: Crispy battered fish tucked into soft tortillas, layered with shredded lettuce, diced tomatoes, cheese, and a tangy orange sauce. The tacos were served with crunchy tortilla chips and a side of salsa—bright, fresh, and satisfying. • Classic Fish & Chips: Golden-fried fillets resting on a generous bed of fries, paired with tartar sauce and a lemon wedge. The batter was light and crisp, and the fish flaky and well-seasoned. A nostalgic comfort dish done right. • Ceviche with Tortilla Chips: A refreshing mix of diced seafood, tomatoes, onions, and avocado, served with crispy chips. It was a standout for its brightness and balance—perfect for sharing. • Pink Cocktail with Lime: A chilled, fruit-forward drink served over ice with a lime wedge and black straw. It paired beautifully with the tacos and added a festive touch to the meal. 🪑 Atmosphere & Service Duke’s feels like a true Ventura surf café—laid-back, welcoming, and full of character. You order at the counter, grab your drinks, and settle into a booth or the pet-friendly patio. Inside, the space is bigger than expected, with cozy seating and big screens for game days. Staff were upbeat and attentive, even checking in post-meal to ask how everything tasted—a rare and appreciated gesture. 📸 Image Descriptions: 1. Taco Plate Close-Up: “Crispy fish tacos with chipotle drizzle—served with chips, salsa, and beachside sunshine.” 2. Fish & Chips Tray: “Golden fillets and fries, Duke’s-style. Casual comfort with a coastal crunch.” 3. Ceviche & Chips: “Fresh ceviche with avocado and house chips—light, bright, and perfect for sharing.” 4. Tacos & Cocktail Combo: “Weekend essentials: tacos, pink cocktail, and good company.” 5. Three-Taco Spread: “Trio of tacos with creamy sauce and cabbage slaw—Duke’s knows how to plate it right.” 💬 Final Thoughts Duke’s Beach Grill is more than just a meal—it’s a vibe. With affordable prices, friendly service, and beach-adjacent charm, it’s a must-visit for locals and visitors alike. Whether you’re benchmarking for team outings or just chasing a great fish taco, Duke’s hits the mark.

Decent spot, close to beach. Outdoor patio which is pet friendly. Off-street parking. Plan to order your food up at the counter and they'll bring it to you and order your drinks at the bar. It works but if you're looking for table service, this may not be the spot. We enjoyed our meals and drinks however. I had a pork bowl of sorts and my partner had the ahi tuna bowl. We also had the fried zucchini app.
