(from Google)My family and I have always loved coming to Lindy’s Landing, in fact I got married there almost a year ago. However, the other night my family came for dinner and it was not a good experience in a different way. My husband and I brought our small baby with and as soon as I took him out of his car seat, the waitress came over and was touching his face and playing with his hair. I am very protective of him especially from strangers and all the sickness going around. I started to say something and she stopped. I felt like I had to shield him every time she came to our table. It was an incredibly uncomfortable and unfortunate situation. You need to ask permission before you touch someone’s baby. I don’t know when the last time she washed her hands, she’s touching money, door handles, other people’s plates/drinks, etc and she had the audacity to touch my baby. It was the worst experience I have ever had due to the level of discomfort I felt at a family dinner that was supposed to be enjoyable. I don’t believe we will be back for a long, long time.
Great place. Food took a little while to get out but it seemed busy so that was understandable. Good food, decent prices and it's right on the lake so a really nice feel. At least on a Sunday afternoon. Would definitely go again.
Great local spot that we have enjoyed probably not enough but every time we go we really appreciate the service and quality. Also had our son's rehearsal dinner there this past memorial day weekend. This spot deserves your attention.
Illinois doesn’t have an ocean, but surprisingly, you can still find place that feel like you are by the beach. This restaurant, which has been around for 60 years, gives off that kind of vibe. The inside is bright and open, with high ceilings and white decor that makes it feel fresh and relaxing. Old photos on the walls show the restaurant’s long history, which is a nice touch. Big windows look out onto a marina full of boats, which adds to the atmosphere—though it can get a little busy. The food is classic American, like burgers and fish & chips. The portions are big, and the fish was crispy and tasted fresh. Even though it’s just in the suburbs, it almost feels like you’re at a seaside marina. It’s a nice little getaway without going far.
Quick take: Decent Food. Very Good Service. Picturesque Setting. Pricy. Full Review: My wife and I have been to Lindy's many times. Most recently we were here Saturday May 24, 2025 which happened to be Memorial Day Weekend. It was cool out (probably 60 degrees) but the full and intense sun made it a perfect day for dining alfresco. They offered tables on the deck, or in the sand, or indoors. We opted for a table in the sand (which was hands down the best option). The menu has a nice array of options. I ordered the Poor Man's Lobster Roll (shrimp instead of lobster). My wife had the Cali Wrap. Our meal was good, but a little overpriced. Having Bangs Lake as a backdrop made it a little more palatable. Lindy's is at its peak on days when they offer live music. The lakeside setting might elevate it from a three star review. If I could give it 3.5 stars I would. If you are in the area and looking for a relaxed lakeside vibe you might to give Lindy's a try.
