Cooper Mountain Nature Park

Well maintained trails with sitting areas scattered throughout, variety of open spaces and wooded areas, very scenic. Lots of wildflowers right now!

This park is absolutely beautiful! When you first arrive there is a parking lot, not huge but around 60 spots I would say. There is a red building with bathrooms which are very clean. It has a small but exciting playground as well. The views are STUNNING! My 5 yearold was in awe of how beautiful it is here. I absolutely recommend coming here for a nice day trip or hike. The trails are very accessible and there is something for everyone here. Lots of beautiful wildlife here as well! Great park!

Beautiful place to go for a walk/hike. 3.2. Mile loop with some good uphill. Great views!

PLEASE NO DOGS!!! Beautiful park. Feels more secluded than it actually is. Perfect for kids and older folks. Gorgeous views toward Sherwood and the Chehalem Mountains. Unique terrain with mix of wooded areas and oak groves. Kinda reminds me of the Bend area in Central Oregon. Trails are gradual but, not too steep and since there’s only one parking lot, all the trails have loops and are interconnected with each other.

Cooper Mountain Nature Park is a great spot for getting outdoors and enjoying some fresh air. The trails are well-maintained, and we love that there are three different routes to choose from: Little Prairie Loop, Cooper Mountain Loop, and Larkspur Loop. We took about an hour and a half to complete a 3.5-mile hike with the kids, starting from the parking lot, exploring the Little Prairie Loop, and doing a full circle around the Cooper Mountain Loop. We avoided Blacktail Way since it takes a bit longer to get back to the parking lot, but it’s great to have options for all hiking preferences. One of the best features is the trail maps along the way—super helpful and makes it hard to get lost. It’s always a joy to step outside and enjoy nature here. There is a small playground kids can also enjoy next to the parking lot. Highly recommend!
