I loved everything about the renovations to Finlay Park! We used to come years ago for concerts. It's so good to see the modern updates from the fountain, waterfalls, playground, fitness courts, walking trails and so much more! I could spend the day in this place! The pictures do not do it justice. It's a must see in my opinion.

After enjoying a wonderful brunch, we headed over to Finlay Park, located at 930 Laurel St, Columbia, SC 29201, and we were truly impressed with the upgrades. The park looks fantastic and has become an even better place to relax and enjoy the outdoors. Finlay Park offers something for everyone. Whether you’re walking, jogging, roller skating, walking your dog, or bringing your kids to enjoy the playground and sliding wall, there are plenty of activities to choose from. It’s a vibrant space where the community can gather, enjoy the fresh air, and take in beautiful surroundings. Our favorite thing to do is sit and soak in the atmosphere on a sunny day. The open space, updated features, and welcoming environment make it one of the best spots in Columbia to unwind and enjoy the weather. If you’re looking for a great outdoor experience in Columbia, Finlay Park is definitely worth a visit!

Stopped by Finlay Park recently and really enjoyed the time there. It’s a quiet, laid-back spot that’s perfect if you just want to step away from noise and clear your mind for a bit. The view around the water is nice and it’s a good place to take an easy walk or just sit and relax. I liked how open the space feels. There were people walking, exercising, and just hanging out, but it still felt calm and comfortable. It didn’t feel crowded or overwhelming, which made it easy to just enjoy the moment. It’s also a very pet-friendly space. I saw several people out with their dogs, and it felt like a safe and enjoyable place for them to walk and play. The park also seems suitable for all age groups, from kids running around to adults and older visitors just enjoying the outdoors. It’s the kind of place you can visit when you want fresh air, a simple walk, or somewhere to reset after a busy day. I’d definitely go back again.

I LOVE THIS PLACE. Soo much fun things to do here. i brought some food to picnic with my friends, while we just watch everyone having fun with their activities like the people working out ,playing pickleball, people flying drones, kids at the playground( I was really amazed with the cardboard slide!) I would recommend any family coming here to spend some time outside together. one thing i also noticed is there were park rangers that was cleaning the park and patrolling the park. They were really chill. One thing i saw them do is enforce the age limit or requirements which is not a bad thing(just an observation). I felt safe in the park. Really enjoyed it here!

I’m so excited that I finally got to check out the new Finlay Park! I had heard nothing but good things about it from those who attended the grand re-opening, so my expectations were set pretty high… well, I can say that it certainly did not disappoint! First and foremost, I must say that it was simply awesome to see the signature water sculpture flowing and spinning again. That alone went a long way in restoring the signature feel of the park. Furthermore, I absolutely loved the landscaping below the fountain, which consisted of a small stream running through some perfectly manicured rocks and bushes. In addition to the landscaping, I absolutely loved the modern artwork that was incorporated into the park. There was a beautiful yet funky mural that was created by a Columbia-raised artist, and the park also had some really cool 21st-century sculptures, most of which directly represented the state of South Carolina and the city of Columbia. The park also had a really cool calisthenic workout station, which looked perfect for a complete bodyweight workout session, as well as pickleball courts that anybody can play on. Moreover, although I do not have children myself, the park looked like the perfect place for kids to run around for hours and hours. From what I could see, there was a huge climbing platform, two (2) enormous slides, multiple sets of different types of swings, and, what appeared to be a hill that the kids could slide down using burlap sacks. 10-year-old me would have marveled at the quality of this playground! Finally, there was a huge platform stage to hold concerts on, and a nice, well-manicured plain of grass for attendees to watch and enjoy on. All-in-all, I can’t say enough good things about the re-opening of Finlay Park, and I’ll be excited to come back for days and years to come!
