(from Google)It was a beautiful day for the beach with my family today! My little brother, his girlfriend, her little girl and my 2 kids made the most of the beautiful weather today. Not too cloudy and not too sunny! The water was clear and the perfect temperature! We drove down past the entrance to the State Park and entered at beach access 2 where we drove right onto the beach. My only complaint was the copious amount of seaweed on the beach but I’d rather it be there than in the water.
Nice sand and beach, but entrance fee was $7 per adult. Not worth it if you just go there for just a few hours. They do have a gift shop, restrooms and showers. If you are going there for shelling, there wasn't much.
Great little park on Mustang Island! The campsites were well kept and quiet even considering at full capacity. We tent camped and stayed in site 8 which allowed close access to the bathhouse restrooms - which was always clean and the shower water was hot with good pressure! We opted to walk from our campsite to the beach each day, or you can park your car in the parking lot- its just a half mile. Quiet beach that wasn't crowded, cool fishing jetties, and water was nice. We look forward to coming back!
We stayed in an RV at Mustang Island State Park. The sites are older and a little close together. The setup is a little funky too, because they seem to all be buddy site type of setups, so if you're not careful you are backing into a spot that has all the hookups on the opposite side. Not a big deal of you have a motorhome as you can just pull in. Overall very peaceful. Showers are what you would expect at public campground; wear flip flops. The beach is great for fishing or relaxing.
Mustang Island State Park is a beautiful spot to enjoy the Texas coast! The beach access is excellent — it’s easy to get to the sand and the beaches themselves are wide, clean, and absolutely gorgeous. It’s a great place to relax, take a walk, or just enjoy the ocean breeze. The RV park, while convenient, is more of a parking lot setup than a traditional campground, so don’t expect much privacy or scenery there. However, the location makes up for it — it’s close to Corpus Christi, with plenty of restaurants and shopping just a short drive away. Overall, it’s a wonderful place to visit for the beaches and convenience, especially if you’re looking to explore the area.
