Ansonia Riverwalk Park

This is sort of an unknown great spot. Some of the scenery is a bit industrial, but it’s very calming and it’s fun I would say as a dog-walk.

A nice paved walkway along the Naugatuck River stretching from upper Clifton Ave in Ansonia to Division St behind Stop~n~Shop. At the Division Street entrance there is a tiny parking lot with only one handicapped parking slot but there are two additional lots just yards away and the Stop~n~Shop lot across the road. However there are no lots or marked parking spots near the Clifton Ave end. Quiet with pleasant views and a couple of small bench seats spaced along the walk. Dogs are allowed but beware of ‘land mines’ left behind by lazy inconsiderate owners. Go early to get close up views of the Black Vultures warming their wings in the morning before taking flight to soar and circle the skies. Theres also a trestle bridge across the train tracks below making an exciting view for the kids (or anyone) as a train rolls through. After you traverse this trail you can cross Division Street ~ use the traffic control button to cross safely please~ to the Derby River walk for a longer and even more pleasant walk. It is wonderful place to walk. The scenery is beautiful.

Great walkway with lots of great scenery along the river. Be sure to walk over the bridge towards target and do both sides you will not be disappointed. Plenty of parking alongside of of the Stop and Shop. Very friendly people and very well kept trail. Lots of great places for pictures

Great place to walk, sightsee. All sorts of wild life in the river, and friendly folk walking back and forth. Makes it very easy and enjoyable to get some exercise in, we walked almost 3 miles, didn't even feel like it. Parking area is small, but spots available in nearby shopping areas.
