(from Google)A fantastic place to walk through the woods. They have plenty of parking spaces available. They also have lots and lots of trails to choose from that cover a huge area. Depending on the time of year, some of the trails are closed. Currently The swinging bridge is undergoing repairs and is closed. But the big paths are nice to walk regardless of where you go
Amazing hiking trails, a great place to take your pets, your significant other, a great place to take a swim lol tho at times it's not deep at all, it's just one of my favorite places in Durham
Wanting a new adventure for Valentines Day, we traveled to the Eno River for a dose of nature by way of a hike. There are several trails to choose from and a quick study from Google gives you info about the level of difficulty and length of each trail. We chose an easy trail level of one and a half miles. Shortly after beginning, we came upon a group with a leader who invited us to tag along. The leader stopped frequently to explain various trees, plants, wildflowers. He had a deep knowledge of area’s history and shared this as we came upon old cabins and structures. If you check the Eno River Park’s website, the dates/times of hikes led by educated guides. I would suggest wearing sturdy footwear as we came across some muddy, slippery areas. We plan on returning to enjoy the wildflower hike. If you enjoy getting some exercise by grounding yourself with nature, this is the place.
Eno River State Park is raw, rugged, and absolutely stunning. The trails challenge you, the river sculpts the landscape, and the wildlife keeps you on your toes. Perfect for serious hikers, nature enthusiasts, and anyone craving an unfiltered outdoor experience. A must-visit for those who respect the wild. 🌿🏞️
Great area to hike or picnic near the river. Well marked trails but their are currently closed trails from flooding. The camping area is open.
