Cargill Long Park

This has become our favorite of the Longview trails. It's shaded and hilly, and, for a lot of it, you aren't even aware that you're in the middle of the city. It's peaceful, with much of the city hum and clank drowned out by birdsong, wind in the pines, and the chattering of squirrels. Come check it out. It takes about 2.5 to 3 hours to walk to it's end at Highway 80 and then back to the beginning on 4th St.

We walked the trail at dusk, and a kind man on a bicycle gave us a light to use. Many people on this trail have been kind and it has a nice unified community vibe. Safe trail for the family and kids.

The best walking park I’ve been too. It’s clean, paved, and feels safe.

First impressions of this trail is that it’s neat and clean. What do we do when we come to trails? Well we walk! We find small rocks. We find big rocks. We try to find a body of water. We learn pine vs oak trees! The trail itself is paved! Pets and bikes are permitted. There is a restroom and also just one little picnic area and yes a trash can! I’m not sure how long the trail is because we didn’t reach the end! We will be back to do that. But from what I can estimate probably the whole way through and back is about 3 miles. Beautiful shade! Lots of little hidden gems like little streams! Fyi a neighborhood is in the back, some neighbors have gates that lead into the park….and we found 2 sidewalks that lead into the neighborhood

City of Longview has refurbished this trail from 4th Street to Highway 80 in downtown Longview. Great for walking, running, and cycling with plenty of shade, trees, and hills.
