(from Google)I LOVE this park but BEWARE OF COPPERHEAD!!!! I came for the sunset because this park offers a gorgeous view, but we saw a copperhead very close to the benches & boat ramp. Just keep an eye out. I didn’t deduct a star for the snake because that’s just part of being by a river. The missing fifth star is because I wish the river was more visible once you’re on the paths. The paths hug the river but the view is almost completely obstructed by all the brush. Maybe they could just thin some of it so there’s more visibility. I still appreciate all the sitting areas they have on the cleared-out part of the bank. I also like the fact that they have restrooms, which have always been open & in decent condition when I’ve been there.
Floating fishing dock, mini picnic areas, paved, and wooded trails closes at dusk opens at dawn. Nice little park in the back of the Tarrington community next to James River high school
Always a lovely experience. Restrooms are kept up nicely, the open river view with benches is accessible and beautiful, and the trails are open with gravel, bridges, and dirt walks that are not challenging. Such a beautiful place! Dog friendly, on a leash!
A very nice park that has a boat landing and a floating dock. Plenty of space to relax with benches overseeing the river. It also has a decently long tree covered trail that is very nice and easy to traverse. The river here is generally very calm and broad. There are 2 restrooms 1 for men and another for ladies. The men's has an accessible restroom and a single urinal with one wash basin. Restrooms were neat both times that I visited. Seems to be regularly maintained.
Very nice area. It was was quiet because of the time of year and the river wasn't as high and muddy. The playground area is secluded away from river views and it has it's own parking lot but no bathroom. There is a bathroom closer to the boat ramp/ Canoe section which is just a short walk away. Lots of trails great for dogs.
