(from Google)Kids love this park and the river walk path is very pretty. Seasonal bathrooms very close by, overall a great park.
Used to be a nice place, could go sit by the river, fish, jump in the water if you wanted, enjoy grass and trees. Now it is chain link fences, geese, geese poop, concrete, and iron. Its not a park any longer, its a splash pad. the nature has been ripped out and thrown away, like most of the parks in the city. If you want to take your kids somewhere and let them run around while you sit on a bench though, then this would be a 5 star experience. Guess it depends on your definition of a "park". To me, a park in a city, is a place where you go to get out of the city, for trees and water and grass. This is not that any longer.
This is a very nice old park with a paved riverwalk, multiple benches and trash cans, drinking fountains, and a dog drinking fountain. There are a variety of old trees, and a large field for playing sports. There's also a playground, multiple shelters with picnic tables, a swimming pool, and a paved walking path to reach the park across the road.
The water slide is closed, likely permanently, due to poor maintenance. The concrete poor deck is broken and heaved around most of the pool. So watch your feet and toes and where you step! Also, I would not use or even swim near the swim race starting platforms. A few are ready to break and fall into the pool when a person is on it. Probably will happen this year.
Great place to bring the kids and beat the winter blues. Friendly staff, affordable concessions, and not too crowded. Very affordable afternoon out with the family!
