(from Google)Friendly upon checking in and lots of good signage. Tent area is a big one-way circle. Bathroom is in the middle and it was much nicer than I'd expected. There were lots of water spigots around. I stayed in Site 7, there is a resident Gopher Tortoise there, in the back. It was very cute! This site isn't ideal for van camping though, as there isn't much parking space. For van camping I'd recommend sites 8, 11, 14, and 13 in a pinch. Easy hiking trails and be sure to enjoy the Bird Blind back behind the corrals!
Big area for Biking, hiking, animal watching and peace. Restroom was clean and had paper but this was 9am. Water was off in mens room but woman's room had running sink water. Really nice quiet space in the middle of all the noise we create.
This is definitely one of the best parks in the Pasco area! With so much to do, the land just goes on and on! Definitely perfect for birthdays, family outings, people who like to hike or bike trails, camping, etc. but let’s talk about the playground since that’s what we focused on when we went. There’s multiple playgrounds here, one for smaller children and one for bigger children, with a multitude of different climbing structures, swings, ropes, jungle gyms and more! My 3 year old twins loved it all! Especially the beehive shaped climbing structure, they climbed on top of it and inside of it over and over. It’s super cute. There’s plenty of shaded picnic areas too, so you can sit and relax and watch the little ones, there’s natural shade from the trees which is always a plus. The trees here are absolutely beautiful by the way and you can tell they maintain this park very well and take pride in it. There’s also a trail for kids that tells a story, it loops around in a circle and it’s not too rough, there’s still so much to see and it teaches the kids as you walk. You can even scan the QR code on the story walk signs and it’ll read it out loud to you and tell you more about the park and what wildlife there is. There’s a little library at the front of the playground which I always donate a book and brand new journals because people of all ages love journals. So if you’re in the area like we were, definitely hit up Starkey market and then hit up the park, we had a blast doing both!
Always a beautiful walk with the dog and my love. It's a nice treat for both the girls and myself as the park is always beautiful and full of wildlife and gorgeous old trees nice little river super clean park including restrooms with running water.⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
The playground is nestled under a canopy of shady trees with easy access from the parking lot. It's a short drive into the park but it's worth the drive. It's well kept and clean with plenty of restroom facilities. Great for kids. Update: they have extended park hours to 8pm and are in the process of replacing and freshening up the mulch in areas . Update: downed limbs and trees have been roped off from hurricane Ian
