A true peace of heaven on Earth.. pure natural beauty anywhere you look, the energy of the Universe can literally be felt here if you allow it. Thank you city of St. Petersburg for keeping this place so natural, magically pure and beautiful and for the supplying Cold Fresh water along the paths!

Gorgeous park. Quiet, shaded trails weavig along shores of two lakes. 2.5 mile loop, lots of flora and fauna to see.

Great loop for walking that is about 2.5 miles. There are other trails that you can add to add some mileage. The trails is well kept and has plenty of spots to sit and enjoy the views. Parking is $2 and you can pay with cash or card. There are porta potties also. They had hydration stations, but I didn't check to see if they were full when I was there. Overall, great spot for a nice hike.

Unpaved 2.5 mile loop trail around the lake. The trail is fairly easy, mostly flat with some gradual slopes. You'll be walking on packed of soft sand, natural grasses, and leaves. It's kept cleared but there are many exposed roots on the trail, which can trip you. Walking on soft sand can be a little more tiring. The trail has two paths, Red and Blue. But the only difference is Red is a little closer to the lake shore and you get more views of the lake. They run parallel, near each other, and intersect often. Trail is frequently marked, and a couple map signs are posted along the trail. but various cuts and access roads for park maintenance and power lines can lead you off trail. There are plenty of benches and shade cover. A water station is available halfway around the loop. You don't have a constant view of the lake from the trail. The view is often obstructed with thick vegetation. Rather, there are cutouts here and there or paths that take you closer to the shore. The trail can be a little dull, as other than the lake, there aren't many other notable sights and it doesn't vary much. Once you've seen a bit of it, you've pretty much seen all of it. So kids may get bored. Still great for a short hike though. Lake canoe and kayak access is available near the parking lot. I saw a few small birds, squirrels, and one lone alligator on the lake. Educational signs are present along the trail, each with information on a a species of animal or plant present is the park. At the Wax Myrtle sign, read it, then look up and to your left, in the brush, for a surprise. Regarding the other lake on the map, Lake Raleigh, it has a small unmarked path to view it. It can be difficult to find because you need to get off the marked trail, and I think most people will miss it. On the far shore of Lake Rogers, halfway around the lake, there's a part where the power lines are near to the trail. Get off the marked trail and follow the power lines cut instead. On your right, there's a path to Lake Raleigh. There's an old picnic bench there, so it's meant to be found. There's no trail around this lake. Parking is $2 and available accepts credit cards. Typical for parks in the area. Parking is plentiful. Porta potties are available at the parking lot.

You can tell the staff take pride in this park. Love the cool shaded misty mornings at this park. Such a phenomenal experience to walk the trails and be immersed in nature. There are some choice picnic spots too!
