(from Google)Well kept park and nice wide trails to walk or bike! The trails are well marked with frequent signs. Did the shortest 1.7 mile trail - easy trail. The water fountain had a fountain for pets too!!
I’m from out of town and thought this might be a great place to come. There was just a lot of pine trees only saw a few birds even though we came in the early morning. It was just disappointing. There wasn’t much to see the trails were nice and the park was clean, but definitely anything I would write home about. We live in South Florida so we have baby spoon bills and all kinds of stuff right now and they just wasn’t much of that here. One positive visit they allow you to bring animals.
We have been wintering in Panama City Beach for several years primarily because of Conservation Park. We, along with many others, have found this park to be very conservation oriented. Much emphasis has always been put on all the wildlife that calls this park their home. It's been a quiet place of solitude. But this year we've found it's changed dramatically. On several occasions, we have nearly been mowed over by bikers, especially on the boardwalks. They're destroying the trails leading up to and off of the ends of the boardwalks. Many play loud music, hoop and holler, and just basically have no concern for all the wildlife or people who are trying to enjoy the solitude that this park offers. We have noticed that the birds stop chirping and things get quiet as the bikes come flying through. And besides this someone is going to get hurt. Many have no respect for walkers. Please take a look at what these bikes are doing, not only to the trails themselves, but how disruptive they are to the environment. At the very least, the outside trails could be designated for bikes and they could be asked to stay off of the inner trails and especially the boardwalks.
We took a nice walk through one of the trails this week. It was pretty cool outside, so we didn’t do all the trails. But we will be back! Very peaceful and clean. We saw some others jogging and biking as well.
What a beautiful place! Boardwalks, paths, natural flora is very well maintained. I look forward to many visits trying all the various paths. Great large clean bathrooms and plenty of maps available. I saw walkers, bike riders and families all enjoying this large park. I never felt crowded and was able to enjoy myself in safe manicured solitude. Parking is easy and plentiful.
