(from Google)If you want to see the Blue Angels practice and avoid the crowds or South Blue Angel Parkway (which becomes a “parking lot” an hour before their takeoffs at 10:30) to the West Gate entrance to the base, this is a pleasant place to watch.
I thought the park trails were limited to the trailhead but I crossed the street and found another 2 miles of paved trails hugging the intercoastal water. Very relaxing places to sit with swings too.
Great place to walk by the water. With a good even path. Very dog friendly.
It was real fun visiting Navy Point Park. We just sat on a bench which overlooked the water while eating a little lunch. It was fun to watch a couple people fish, and there was a friendly heron also fishing. Lots of people walked by and were friendly. Nice trees next to the sidewalk. Peaceful and clean.
Navy Point Park has a paved pathway, beautiful trees, and a nice view of the water. If you want to go for a longer walk, you can cross the road and follow the shoreline for about 4 miles(out and back). Benches and a few portable bathrooms are available along the path. As you walk along the path, you can enjoy the water view, beautiful trees(oaks, pines, and Magnolias), and charming older homes. We spotted Pelicans at the boat ramp and a Bald Eagle flying overhead. There were plenty of small birds and squirrels to watch. This is a perfect nature walk on a sunny day.
