Roan Mountain is one of my favorite places to hike, with so many different trail options to explore. Carver’s Gap is my favorite spot, offering absolutely gorgeous views and some of the most scenic hiking in the area. The park is very well maintained and clearly well cared for, making every visit enjoyable. If you love the outdoors, this is a must-visit destination.

Nice park to visit. You can drive up on mountain for a great view. Make sure you contact the rangers first to chdck if it is going to be foggy. Saw some ice while driving up. It was beautiful. They have a nice gift shop as well.

We visited the park in the fall so the leaves were gorgeous. It's unfortunate that the campground #2 is still closed from the hurricanes and apparently is not going to be open for several years yet. I love the area and the closeness to towns. There is a trail that's lovely along the Doe River. There's some campsites also that are along the river I would suggest looking into. There's not a lot of riding space for e-bikes. Friendly staff.

Beautiful park. Great visitors center. The young lady who was working was very helpful and knowledgeable about the trails. If you go to the top of the mountain, near the North Carolina line, the parking is limited inside. During the government shutdown check to see what services are available before you go.

Wow!!! I don’t know what to say. Such an amazing hike. I felt like it was challenging not scary challenging but yet there was a variety in the hike that wasn’t just all a certain way if you need to stop people could stop. I felt safe but yet you’re still out there so you could be confronted with the bear who knows. I feel like it’s good for all ages. Highly highly would recommend.!
