Paws Appeal Grooming and Doggy Day Care

Took my baby girl in for the first time today. Had no trouble getting an appointment and they answered their phone right away. Staff was friendly and professional. They did an amazing job, and believe me, my girl was looking rough due the holidays. I even took my other baby in for just a nail trim with no issues. I will definitely be going back.

I rarely leave reviews, but this experience was extremely unprofessional and upsetting, especially because it was so different from past visits. In the past, when Emely groomed my Pomeranian, the experience was always positive. She was kind, professional, and it was very clear that she genuinely loved seeing my dog and treated her with care and respect. I never once felt judged or uncomfortable during those visits. This most recent experience was the complete opposite. When I dropped off my dog, I was given a price range of $65–$70. While the final cost ended up being higher, the price was not the main issue. I called during the day simply to ask how my dog was doing after being there all day, and instead of reassurance, I was accused of not grooming my dog regularly. That assumption was inappropriate and unnecessary. I should not have had to explain my personal circumstances or where I previously lived to justify my pet care. I was then criticized for how difficult my dog was to groom and told her hair was full of knots, rather than being spoken to respectfully or offered professional guidance. If someone was uncomfortable grooming my dog, that should have been communicated professionally — not through blame. What made this experience unacceptable was a comment made in Spanish by an older man sitting inside the shop. He said, “Para la próxima, se la van a dejar pelona por no ser responsable y traerla cuando se necesita,” implying that my dog would be shaved bald next time due to alleged irresponsibility. This comment was humiliating, judgmental, and completely unprofessional. Hearing a statement like that made it clear to me that I would never risk bringing my dog back to this establishment, knowing what was openly said about how she would be treated “next time.” No pet owner should feel shamed or threatened when trusting someone with their pet. Because of the drastic change in professionalism and the disrespect shown, I will not be returning and cannot recommend this groomer.

Update : my mom and I have been taking our dogs here for about a couple years now and absolutely love it! They are the only ones who seem to be able to handle small to large dogs no matter their behavior difficulties. Their prices are affordable compared to other groomers I’ve been too!

Emily and her staff are amazing. I’ve been coming here for over 5 years and they always take care of my dogs. I highly recommend coming for any of your pet grooming needs.

Such a wonderful pet groomer. Emily and her staff are amazing. They did a fantastic wonderful amazing groom on our Sheppard (Brooke) and Yorkie (Teddy). Their prices are very reasonable. They showed lots of love and care for our animals. Don't bother going anywhere else. You will not find a better groomer. Thank you 😊
