(from Google)Worst Petco grooming experience I’ve ever had, strongly recommend avoiding this location. This store currently has two groomers, and in my experience, one of them (Jemeki) provided very poor service. She came across as having a negative attitude and did not show much patience with my dog. During the appointment, I was told my dog’s coat was “tangled,” which resulted in additional charges that felt unnecessary and unexpected. I’ve taken my dog to multiple grooming locations across different states and have never had any issues. I’ve always been told he behaves well, so this was the first time I was told otherwise. My dog was ultimately referred out with no clear explanation or solution provided directly by the groomer. She also did not communicate this to me herself and instead had someone else inform me. Overall, the experience felt rushed, unprofessional, and poorly handled. I left very disappointed and would not recommend this groomer based on my visit.
They wouldn't groom my dog because of matting. I made the appointment online and I said in his profile that he had some matting so they knew. What a waste of gas. They suggested a pet hospital. So I went to the groomer who did him before with no problem. Aren't y'all supposed to professionals? Naw y'all just lazy and didn't want to do it. Y'all get a check anyway so what do you care.
Kristen, the groomer at the front desk, was wonderful from beginning to end! She was friendly, knowledgable, kind and sensitive about my dogs' needs. Truth is, I only intended on getting their nails trimmed but Kristen was so lovely (and a great salesperson, I might add!) that I ended up entrusting them to give my babies baths and more! And I'm a helicopter pet parent, so that's saying a lot. Kristen handled my pups very well, even when my little one had an accident on her table. (Oy, I was so embarrassed!) They came out looking beautiful and smelling great! Additionally, two other groomers were working on two small breed dogs whose hair was poorly kempt: long, ratty and matted. It was heartbreaking to watch, but the groomers handled it with grace and were gentle and kind to those sweet babies. Give Kristen and the other groomers a raise and holidays bonuses! A+++++, highly recommend!
Avoid this Petco grooming center. I brought my sweet American canine here for the first time after seeing a summer special advertised on their website. My usual groomer wasn’t available, so I decided to give them a try. The groomer, Nicole, looked over my poodle and mentioned some light matting on his lower legs — something that’s fairly typical for poodles. I’ve heard that before, but I’ve never had issues with my regular groomer, so I didn’t think much of it. When I returned to pick up my dog, I was shocked to see the bill had been raised by $31 due to "matting." On top of that, my poodle had been shaved extremely close — practically to the skin — and had an open wound on his right paw. I was extremely upset and immediately filed a complaint with Petco corporate.
I had a highly disappointing experience at this grooming salon. The groomers were unprofessional, confrontational, and lacked the proper tools or refused to use them to secure dogs on the table. They did not demonstrate the necessary training or willingness to use desensitization techniques for dogs new to the grooming process. During intake, the groomer made it clear that she does not like working with dogs who are new to professional grooming or those who have been groomed at home. She even implied she strongly opposes grooming such dogs and seemed reluctant to work with large Goldendoodles due to the time required. After my dogs had been there for hours, I received a call asking me to pick them up because they were unable to complete the grooming. One of my dogs was reportedly “rolling around on the table,” which raises serious concerns—how was this even possible? Do they not have harness systems, grooming arms, or loops for safety? I worry about whether my dog could have fallen off the table. As for my other dog, I was told she was “jumping on the manager’s back.” Again, how? Shouldn’t there be professional handling techniques and calming aids in place for anxious or energetic dogs? This experience left me questioning the professionalism, training, and safety measures of this grooming salon. I would not recommend them to anyone looking for a safe, skilled, and patient groomer for their pets.
