Nature's Pet Market Salem - Storefront & Grooming

I had booked online for my two pure bred dobies. I notified them via the booking that my male can be aggressive sometimes - although I explained to them it’s only if he gets a bad vibe. He’s not mean and angry all the time. It was a feat to get them 30 mins away to this location and I was then told they didn’t realize my dog may not like other dogs. I asked if he’d be in contact with other dogs and they said no, but if he barked he’d be a nuisance. I said, well I can’t guarantee he won’t ever bark. Both my dogs bark sometimes but they aren’t normally like that. I just didn’t know for sure. Can you know your dog won’t ever bark? Anyway they still decided they refused my male but would take my female (who I think would be more likely to bark). I feel like we were discriminated against because he’s a large dog and high energy. There was no reason to believe there would be a problem. I’ve taken them both to several boarding places and groomers and never been told something like this. Both my dogs are usually overly friendly. I’m very disappointed in how they handled this situation. If you have a small low energy dog, I guess this is the place. If you have a large dog, I’d take them elsewhere. Picture of my male for attention lol

Love this store and all of the people in it! They have great products and have helped my dog so much with joint pain issues. I will be forever grateful for how much they have helped my senior dog decrease pain. They also do a wonderful job at creating community and raising funds to help animals. On top of that the prices are very reasonable considering the high end services they provide. One of my favorite stores in Salem!!!

For anyone in Salem looking for a top-tier pet shop, Nature's Pet is the place to go. They offer a fantastic selection of premium pet foods and toys, and their grooming services are excellent. Anna is an absolute rockstar on their team, and her great service is a huge reason why this is the best pet shop in the valley.

I had to update my review on the salon. They are amazing. Ive increased my number of puppies and they still have been grooming them like mad. Even the babies who are still learning how to behave at the salon. Meredith was able to do what I asked in getting out the impacted coat despite my dog modi being a total shit (literally). They were so kind and transparent about his behavior I couldn't thank them enough. I absolutely recommend bringing your dogs here. I am most likely one of the oldest customers of this salon to be writing a review. I have gone here to have my gorgeous dogs groomed every month for at least the past 5 years. They have to be the greatest group of individuals. Every staff member I've worked with has been nothing but kind and helpful with every question I have, item I might be looking for, or the specific groom I want done. Julie the stores owner is an extremely intelligent women, and getting to know her as I've shopped there and recently started working for the veterinarian next door as been a great experience. Her staff Anna, and Alicia make the store one of my favorite places to shop, and I look forward to going there for anything related to my animals.

I took our dog here today for the first time and we had an amazing experience! We were greeted at the door. Our pup can be nervous and shy in new places, but he felt comfortable, safe, and was quite eager to say hi to the staff members. Our pup is a picky eater, we have tried giving him many types of big brand dog food (canned, kibble and toppers) and treats (biscuits, cookies, etc.), he has either spit them out or outright refused to try them. I mentioned this to the 2 amazing people that greeted us at the door. They took it as a mission and I was so happy to see that not only was our pup interested in everything that they offered him, but he ate every little sample he was given. They also gave me samples of different brands and flavors of dog food to take home to see what our pup would eat. The staff are friendly, approachable, and very knowledgeable. They offer a wide range of supplies, food, treats, chews and more. I highly recommend checking this shop out and meet the wonderful people who work there. I wish I remembered the names of the 2 people who helped us today as I would like to tell them thank you again for all their help. We can’t wait for our next visit to your store.
