Max's Pet Market & Salon (Mirada location)

I completely understand that a groomer’s time is valuable, and I respect cancellation and late policies. My disappointment isn’t with the policy itself—it’s with the complete lack of grace or willingness to work with a long-time customer. We pay $125 upfront for our appointments because, after years of coming here, we were late once before. Unfortunately, this time we arrived 29 minutes “late”. I accidentally marked my calendar for 10:30 for a 10AM appointment. I fully understand that the appointment couldn’t be accommodated, but I was hoping for some kindness in the form of even a partial credit toward a future appointment. As a working mom of two little ones, sometimes life happens despite my best efforts. I take responsibility for being late and will continue to do better. I just wish that same understanding and grace had been extended to a loyal customer who was simply asking for a little compassion during a difficult morning.

Gave them a shot after finding out they were under new ownership. The store is very clean, very near to my home and with great products and friendly cashier/employee. My puppy is 5 months old and this was his second grooming appointment with a groomer, first being at Woofgang Bakery. Brought him to Max and was told they can’t do a full groom because it was his first time here and they will only do a face, fanny , paw, bath and ear cleaning. Wasn’t really sure why this policy is in place considering that the main reason I brought him in was to get a full groom including cut. Also because at Woofgang Bakery they performed a full grooming including cut when it was his first grooming ever, but I agreed to it. At completion, I was then told they still can’t give him a full grooming for next time because he was wiggling and it’s for safety that he go through a second face, fanny and paw before a full grooming which still made no sense to me because what’s the difference between here and Woofgang Bakery? Why did Woofgang tell me he was well-behaved and that they are happy to see us again but not here? Why was I not told during the confirmation call, after booking the full-groom and noting that it’s his second groom and his age that they wouldn’t do the full-groom? If I was told before showing up instead of being told at the front while handing him to the groomer, I would have cancelled it. Either way at the end of the day, as you can see in my image, even the grooming was not done how I expect a $65 session be. Face is uneven, paws uneven as well, fanny still long, belly seemed fine and obviously no cut so coat still same length. Overall, I was disappointed in my first visit here and will be taking my business back to Woofgang Bakery. FYI, I live 4 minutes from Max but would drive the extra 20 minutes for better service.

The new owners are great!! They did such a fantastic job grooming Luna. I'll definitely be going back and I really like the new food choices they have too!! Definitely check them out and thank you Lucy for making Luna look so adorable 😍!!

We’ve been going to Maddison for a little over a year now and we adore her! Valentine always comes out handsome and he loves Madison! He always gets excited when we pull into the parking lot and greets her with lots of hugs! It means a lot to have a groomer my pup loves going to.

This is truly my first ever review and it has to go to the groomers at this Salon! They did such an amazing job on my pup Reign. He looks good, smells good and is so soft. Coming from someone who grew up around and in the grooming industry, truly some amazing groomers in this place !! I would definitely recommend.
