(from Google)Dr Phillips is a super caring and kind veterinarian, and she loves all animals, like me - and cares for my pets like her own. Her bedside with our pets is very comforting and my cats (usually fearful of anyone) are calm with her, and I’m grateful for that. I’ve used this clinic nearly 30 years. They are wonderful!
I miss Jeff Lancaster so badly but the newer docs are also great. One even calculated my dogs daily caloric intake by what I feed her! (She’s an overweight Assie).
I recently moved to Tyler and my Mom highly recommended the Tyler Veterinary Center since she has used them for the last 20 or so years for her own dogs after she moved to Tyler too. I have 2 French Bulldogs - one is an absolute lover (Sable) and so easy while the other one (Bella) is re-learning how to trust people after being traumatized and being sent to a rehab facility for approximately 4 months about 18 months ago so long before my move to Tyler. I have worked with Bella non-stop everyday since then and it's tough and many days have been filled with tears. Her trainers have told me multiple times that most people would have put her down given her trauma responses and it's been a long haul but she continues to improve so I keep trying to help her. Needless to say, you don't always know what you will get (reactive) with her and I have been dreading taking her to the vet since we arrived in Tyler for her annual exam. I initially took Sable on her own and also continued to meet with Dr. Haleigh Arent-Fulmer for a good period afterwards to discuss how to get Bella in for a vet appointment let alone through her annual exam without her losing it. Dr. Haleigh was so kind, thoughtful, and took all the time I needed to give her a robust picture of what Bella has gone through and the best ways to work with her. She was open to doing whatever was best for Bella and didn't push fully medicating her except using the hemp chews I have her on daily anyway. We simply upped the dosage and exercised her with a ball she runs about 30 mins before the appointment. Dr. Haleigh even offered to make an appointment the following week at the end of the day as a "test" to gauge how Bella would tolerate coming in and being around people she didn't know and the stress of traveling in a car, etc. to get there. We initially looked at it as a "test" appointment and I wasn't expecting much but low and behold, Bella immediately gave Dr. Haleigh and the vet tech Taylor kisses and wanted to be touched which is so not like her with new people. Bella was able to get her full annual exam including shots due and bloodwork done without flipping out at all. I went back the following week to get her nails trimmed using the same hemp chews and running the ball strategy that I had already been doing and between treats (yes, one treat per toenail does wonders for a food centric dog!), Taylor was able to cut her nails with no problem at all. I hope this will continue in the future as we build our relationship with this vet office and staff. I am more than happy to recommend Dr. Haleigh, Abraham (our really sweet vet tech during Sable's appointment) AND Taylor since they've been so wonderful to my girls. I no longer feel like I need to fear going to the vet because this practice truly care about not just my girls but me as their Mom! Thank you so much
This was my first visit, and it was a very positive experience. The doctor and her staff were pleasant. She took plenty of time to get to know my pet and me. My search for a Vet is over!
Being a first time Cat owner I did not know where to go to get care for a stray kitten I took in. I looked at reviews and costs and found that Tyler Vet Center was probably my best bet. It certainly was! They are compassionate and caring. They answered all my questions without feeling rushed. They took care of my cat and made me feel at ease. I appreciate them for everything that they do!
