(from Google)Great place to see some wild animals. Carry a stick or something when venturing the trails. There is Real wildlife lurking around! The gator on the Gator trail walk was about 12 foot in length!!! Stay safe and enjoy the wildlife 😊🙏
Great birding area. We enjoyed walking the trails and saw havalina and an alligator at the pond. It's just a short drive from SPI.
This is truly a piece of heaven. I already done 2 long walk around the refuge (15 miles+)and the amount of beauty and wildlife is mind blowing. The staff are also nice and helpful. Highly recommend stopping here
When I went there wasn't a lot of people it could have been that time of year or maybe it was too hot but the volunteer that was working the gift shop was absolutely just the sweetest.. I'll be going back.
When I arrived at the visitor center there was a javalena family hanging around the entrance, I had the opportunity to talk to Vi (volunteer) about the area she was friendly and informative. Great place to learn about the area's biodiversity. Will definitely be back when I'm in the area!
