Lake Murray Trail Head

Very big lake to go and do your walk, running and biking. You can fish here too. This Lake is similar to Lake Mira Mar. They have good enough parking outside when it close due to a holiday. The parking inside are plenty too. The bad thing about this lake is that you can't make a whole complete loop because it is close at one end so you have to make a return trip which I didn't mind.... Would be great if they open that section like Lake Mira Mar. Round trip is about 6 miles

While I was initially underwhelmed by the muted colors and terrain, I am so grateful I decided to walk the bike trail. I felt like I found a hidden gem when I noticed I was surrounded by so many locals. Runners. Bikers. Folks walking their dogs. Fishers. Kiddos. It was such a pleasant atmosphere. Note that it is an out-and-back trail. About 3 miles one-way (6 miles roundtrip).

I love walking my dog here and he probably likes it even more. It's gorgeous and peaceful here. Beautiful scenery, lots of people enjoying the lake. There are people like me walking their dogs, people pushing strollers, joggers, some on bikes, it's great seeing so many people out enjoying beautiful La Mesa.

Nice paved trail. Restrooms and trash cans and trash bags for your fur babies poop available along the trail. Lots of parking available, beautiful views of the lake. You can boat and fish here(You’ll need a license.) very kid friendly. You can bike and skate too.

This place is perfectly convenient and local in San Diego. There is so much to do here. You can bike, walk, run, or bird watch the trail. Some people go back and forth consecutively. The richness and plush colors of the lake along with the plant life magical. Peak hours vary. I was lucky that it was pretty calm about Saturday afternoon. In addition people bring their tents, relax, fish and there are so many things to do here.
