James knew exactly what stage I was at with my puppy when I first brought her in. He's open to training your dog using his methods, but how YOU want them trained, based on your goals, wants, and needs. My puppy has some malinois in her and James knew exactly what type of activities, play, and training would work for her, and it did.

We had an amazing experience with Upstate Dog Academy! James worked with our 2 1/2 year old German Shepherd, and from the very beginning, he was warm, professional, and incredibly knowledgeable. He instantly connected with our dog Rey. His personable and caring approach made all the difference. We had struggled with recall and some stubborn behavior issues, but James was able to achieve what we couldn’t on our own. His training methods were clear, effective, and tailored to our dog’s personality. We saw positive changes almost immediately. James ensured we had the tools to continue the training during the transition to home and even provided a one-on-one shortly after we brought Rey home. We are so grateful for the progress our pup has made and feel much more confident as dog owners now. These guys are AMAZING! If I could leave a million stars for them, I would. The knowledge and connection that James has is incredible. We took my son’s lab for extended puppy training and this dog is changed forever. We will definitely bring him back for additional training as he gets older. James is literally the upstate dog whisperer. His love for these animals and the patience he has with them is unlike anything I have ever seen. I recently had the pleasure of meeting the folks at Upstate Dog Academy.They seemed very interested in the issues I had with my woofers.James not only became friends with my woofers ,he taught them new skills.He showed me training techniques he used to get my woofers to understand what I wanted them to do. James showed my woofers how to react to commands he(and I) gave them. All pups are different or should I say stubborn.Cant say your experience would have the quick results I did.Im retired and my woofers are with me all day everyday.
