We highly recommend Dog Training in Your Home/Columbia and Robert for any of your dog training needs. In June 2025 we got a mini Bernedoodle puppy, Maddie. It had been quite a while since we had a dog and wanted professional training help. We looked online to find local trainers, and were very lucky to find Dog Training in your Home. From his very first visit Robert identified things both we and our puppy needed to learn to successfully train her and us. Each lesson focused on specific actions and the activities we needed to complete to reinforce Maddie’s learning. The training has been very successful and Maddie is very excited every time Robert arrives for a lesson. Robert is extremely responsive, friendly and patient. He is focused on what you want to get from the training sessions and continually follows up to make sure he is meeting your expectations. We couldn’t be happier with the training we received.

I want to express my heartfelt gratitude for the outstanding training provided by Dog Training in Your Home/Columbia. My puppy faced several challenges, including not being housebroken or crate trained and struggling to sleep through the night. Thanks to my trainer, Alora, I received valuable guidance in creating a schedule for crate training. Her knowledge and commitment to my puppy's progress were evident throughout the process. Alora helped transform my home into a more pet-friendly environment, and she was always quick to respond to any questions or concerns I had. I am thrilled to see the significant progress my puppy has made. She now responds to her name, listens well, and has become more social. We can confidently take her out in public, including to stores, which was a challenge before. Thank you, Alora, and everyone at Dog Training in Your Home, for your dedication and support.

We decided to foster a third dog, a puppy, in June, and it was rough going for a while. I was really reaching a point where I was worried that maybe he was going to prove to be too much and that we wouldn't be able to give him a permanent home. Our vet recommended these trainers to us, and we decided to sign up after the free evaluation, and I couldn't be more grateful. Alora was a godsend. She gave us back our sanity and helped us find the best methods to motivate our incredibly willful and lazy pup. I'm looking forward to bringing him to group classes in the future now that he's graduated. 10/10 would recommend.

While the convenience of at-home dog training is a valid selling point, the reality of a program called "Dog Training at Home" can be a frustrating and underwhelming experience. You end up spending good money for a product that relies far too heavily on your own self-discipline and ability to interpret vague, one-size-fits-all instructions. It's an expensive video library, not a training program. A mean-spirited review might look something like this: Title: "Dog Training At Home" is a joke. Your money is better spent on chew toys. The program's reliance on self-discipline and ability to interpret vague instructions can be frustrating. "Dog Training at Home" promises a well-behaved dog, but may only deliver a credit card bill and disappointment. The "expert trainers" are on video, which may not be helpful for all dogs. The service may be compared to buying a gym membership and expecting to get fit by watching a workout video. The program relies on consistency, and the materials may be generic and impersonal, offering little help for specific issues. When problems arise, the "support" may be limited. Consider getting a professional trainer who can witness the dog's specific issues. This may be more effective.

The best money we spent! Our sweet rescue developed some potentially agressive behaviors and we weren't sure how to effectively correct him. Within just one in home lesson our dog quite charging the front door when the doorbell would ring! Over a 4 week time period our dog learned several helpful commands and is learning to socialize well with other dogs. I highly recommend this training company!
