(from Google)Nice little easy trail to get off interstate 40 to walk dogs and stretch your legs.
My husband and I (and our dogs) have enjoyed this trail for years. It was closed for a long time because of storm/rain damage. The updates that have been made to the trail and the parking on County Home Road were much needed and very much appreciated!
Very secluded feeling, always enjoyed this wooded trail, but beware poison ivy/sumac/oak sufferers...my husband is allergic to all 3 and we have to be careful walking our dogs on all trails as this one seems abundant.
It took me a while to find the trailhead. Its the side road in to turnabout at the right intrance to conover Wal-Mart. Awesome walk and very quiet.
We wanted to walk a level path so we decided to go to the Lyle Creek Greenway. The path is gravel and some sand in different places. The path is very level and remains at a level elevation. The day that we went there were tons of mosquitoes!! My whole family was lunch for the mosquitoes, even my husband who never gets bitten by mosquitoes! We were swatting at them the whole time. So much so that we cut the walk short and went home! If you walk this trail I would recommend wearing mosquito repellent!
