Renaissance Park

This was my first ever renfair. One of the neatest things was so many people dressed up. Everyone was in a great mood and talkative, it was nothing to just strike up a concert with a complete stranger. There were tons of booths, and food trucks, live music and a coral with full costume sword fights. I'm glad I went early because the grounds were wet and starting to get trampled and muddy. I would definitely recommend it and go back next year if I'm still here.

This park is a fun place to take your kids. Make sure you have some cardboard with you-or check with Starbucks-they usually have some readily available for the taking. Cardboard hill is tons of fun for the kids. My grandchildren can spend hours sledding down the hill.

I’m so impressed with all the variety of plants in the park! The bees, birds, and wildlife make for a fun walk or run through the park. Clean, easy place to enjoy and exercise or play. Place to enjoy the view or workout or walk and talk. Coffee shops and restaurants to easily grab something after your fun.

The park itself is great! The sledding hill is fun as long as you have a good piece of cardboard (better bring your own) and don’t hit any pot holes on the way down. Sadly, on our most recent visit, we noticed that someone wiped away a chalk drawing we had made about a week before. My fiancé and I had made a chalk drawing of Bingo from the show Bluey, hoping it would bring others a smile. We returned about a week later, it not having rained since our previous visit, but someone had washed or wiped away the drawing completely. I’m not sure how long anyone was able to enjoy it before it disappeared.

What’s good? In contrast to the adjacent Coolidge Park, this park brings a little more nature and seclusion to the table. The area has a bit of a wetlands feel with the water being controlled in an artistic fashion that’s pleasing to the eye. Great spot to chill and escape the hustle and bustle of the area. What’s bad? My only critique is that I would rather the wetlands overlook path continued on as a complete bridge.
