We cannot recommend Beyond the Dog and our trainer, Megan, highly enough. We originally reached out because our dog, Gordon, struggled significantly with guests coming into our home and was extremely fearful of walking outside. On our first day of training, I couldn't even walk him to the mailbox without him retreating and pulling me back toward the house. It felt overwhelming, and I worried that I wasn't able to give Gordon the life he deserved. Today, Gordon is a completely different dog. Thanks to Megan's guidance, he is happy, confident, and excited about exploring the world. We can now walk him around our neighborhood, take him to parks, and enjoy experiences that once felt impossible. His world has opened up so much. Instead of fearing walks, he now waits eagerly by the door when he knows it's time to go out. Megan also helped us create a clear, practical protocol for having guests over, which has made a tremendous difference in our home. Looking back, I wish I had taken video on day one and compared it to where Gordon is today because the transformation is almost unrecognizable. What truly sets Megan apart is not only her expertise but also her compassion. It is obvious that she genuinely loves her work and deeply cares about the dogs and families she helps. She was incredibly patient with me throughout the process and gave me the confidence and tools I needed to work successfully with Gordon. I went from feeling overwhelmed and discouraged to feeling capable and empowered. After completing our initial training program, we knew immediately that we wanted to continue working with Megan. She has since helped us with our new puppy as well, and everywhere we go people comment on how well-behaved she is for such a young dog. We continue to schedule maintenance sessions as needed, not only because of the incredible results we've seen, but because Megan has truly become part of our little pack. Our dogs absolutely adore her. If you're considering training for your dog, Megan and Beyond the Dog are worth every penny. The impact they've had on our dogs and on our confidence as pet parents has been life-changing.

The one on one training sessions Megan gave ourselves and our foster dog Goose were incredibly helpful. Goose needed help with leash training and we were having problems stopping him mouthing and jumping on us. The lessons Megan provided corrected all these behaviors. Goose adored Megan and responded so well to the training. We actually started to get compliments from other dog walkers as they could see the progress he was making. Goose found his forever home last week. We would not hesitate to hire Megan again should our next foster require it.

We brought a new Bernedoodle puppy, Rosie, into our lives knowing our family needed something special. She turned out to be exactly what we hoped for, but also presented us with some challenges. Rosie is filled with so much love but also so much anxiety! When we reached out to Beyond the Dog for help, we knew we needed guidance, but we had no idea the impact it would have on all of us. Megan, our trainer, was truly incredible. Rosie’s biting, jumping, chewing, and other puppy behaviors improved tremendously through her training. But the greatest transformation we’ve seen has been in Rosie’s anxiety and reactivity. Megan didn’t just train Rosie, she challenged both of us. She encouraged us to visit parks, stores, and other social settings, helping to build Rosie’s confidence as well as my own. She guided us through crate training so we could leave the house without accidents or constant worry. Just a few weekends ago, we were able to attend our sons’ piano recital for four hours, which is something we once thought was impossible. Now we can confidently leave Rosie in her crate to attend our boys’ practices, games, and other outings. Megan has given our family a sense of freedom and for that we are forever grateful. While we will miss our weekly sessions with her, we know she has equipped us with the tools we need to move forward. The Beyond the Dog program is truly amazing, and Megan is the absolute best! We can’t thank her enough for everything she’s done for Rosie and our entire family!
