⚠️ WARNING – DO NOT EAT OUTSIDE AT THIS PLACE ⚠️ I am immunocompromised, so when I go out to eat I still wear a mask and choose to sit outside for my safety. My family and I have eaten at Lute's Casino many times over the years and used to love it, but after this experience we will never be going back. I ordered two Sonora tacos and my family went outside to sit. Because we were seated outside and there are no condiments out there, I grabbed a small glass of salsa and a couple packet condiments while I waited at the cage to order and pay. Out of nowhere, a server stormed up to me, got within a foot of my face, and loudly shouted: “SIR, I’M GOING TO HAVE TO ASK YOU TO PUT THE SALSA DISPENSER YOU’RE STEALING BACK AT THE BAR!” She said this so loudly that the two tables behind me started laughing at me, and even the woman at the cage was smirking. I was standing there with my mother, and my wife and son were already seated outside. I calmly explained that I had just ordered tacos and only grabbed salsa because there are no condiments outside. Instead of immediately apologizing, she tried to shift the blame and said someone else had “pointed it out to her.” No accountability. No professionalism. Just an employee going out of her way to publicly accuse a paying customer of theft. To make matters worse, I was wearing a mask, and she still chose to get right in my face while yelling at me. At that point I was so embarrassed and angry that I told the cashier I didn’t even want to eat there anymore. Only after I started to leave did she finally come over and offer a half-hearted apology and a $25 gift card, like that somehow makes up for publicly humiliating someone and calling them a thief. Let me be clear: I have never stolen anything in my life. Being loudly accused of stealing in front of a room full of people while simply waiting to pay for my food was humiliating and completely unacceptable. The service here has seriously declined, and the way this was handled was disrespectful, unprofessional, and embarrassing. If you value being treated with basic respect as a customer — especially if you need to sit outside — I strongly recommend avoiding this place.

This establishment is about 100 years old and a unique experience for the Yuma culture. Recommend taking some time to tour the many memorbila on the walls. Has a large bar and large seating area. Service was good. Our group had drinks which everyone was happy with.

Update: I came back to Lutes during Mardi Gras night downtown and they didn't disappoint! We were able to get seating right away. Even though it was pretty busy we were acknowledged and taken care of. Our waitress was great. She gave us some great recommendations! This time I had the fish and chips, one had quesadilla's, and one had a appetizer sampler. The food was great! Thanks again Lute's! Met friends here for lunch. The food was fantastic. I had the Blu Burger with onion rings. Sooo good!😋 A friend got the fish tacos and said it was amazing.

This is an interesting place. Although the word "casino" is part of the name, it does not offer casino services. It is an eating establishment that also serves alcohol. Inside is like a warehouse building decorated in a very eclectic and interesting way. No matter where you look there is something really interesting to look at. The staff was very friendly and instructed us to sit wherever we wanted. The menus are kept on the tables along with the condiments and a napkin dispenser. Our server was very helpful in helping us navigate the big menu to make our selections. I got the rolled potato tacos and my husband got the tri tip sandwich. We shared a large order of onion rings. The rolled tacos are actually what I refer to as taquitos. Our server recommended that I use a lot of their special homemade salsa that was in dispenser on the table. The salsa was mild with a mild bite that added more moisture to the dish. The trip tip sandwich had a generous portion of meat that was enhanced by adding some of the delicious salsa. The onion rings were breaded and very meaty. They were great with the house made ranch dressing. Overall it was a good experience and we will come back to try some of their other menu items when we come back this way again.
