Centennial Park

Centennial Park is located right in front of the hotel I stay at in Midland for work as well as a handful of customers’ offices. You also may be familiar with it if you work in oil and gas as the Bush Convention Center is located next to each other and hosts conferences. The park is clean and well-maintained with plenty of seating all around the park, a large grass area in the middle of it, and a pleasant sidewalk for walking and responding to emails (what you can normally find me doing). The vegetation could be maintained a bit better and the bathrooms are always “closed for cleaning”. I am thankful to have this park where it is and will continue to use it going forward.

If you haven’t been to Centennial Park in downtown Midland lately, you’re missing out on one of the few places in town that feels like it accidentally teleported in from somewhere prettier. The Christmas lights were the real show. They were so bright and detailed that for a minute you forget you’re in West Texas and not strolling through some Hallmark movie set. There were plenty of picture spots tucked around the park, and every one of them looked like it was designed by someone who appreciates good lighting and knows parents want at least one photo where nobody is blinking. The my kids wore themselves out on the big rolling hill. Honestly, it’s probably the cheapest entertainment in Midland because they’ll climb up and roll back down until they’re dizzy enough to walk sideways. The little wooden playscape with rope lattice was a hit too. It’s not huge, but the mix of wood and natural textures fits the park well. The best part is the landscape itself. The different levels, the walkways, and the curves in the design make the whole place feel whimsical. It softens the “downtown Midland” reality and gives you a spot where the kids can wander, teens can take pictures, and adults can breathe for a minute. If you want something festive, peaceful, and a little out of character for West Texas, Centennial Park is worth the trip.

Very nice park, excellent for taking some good photos. quiet atmosphere. there is parking to the surroundings free. bars, shops, bathrooms. has a large grass esplanade and a super screen for events.

My family and I love this oasis 🌴 in the desert 🏜. It has many features including a giant splash fountain, kids games, a giant big screen, a stage and a beautiful grassy park. No Dogs No smoking 🚭 either so that’s nice. Also has armed security guards. Beautiful place to go hang out
