(from Google)I have been boarding my dogs at Hidden Paradise for several years now, and I truly believe it is an excellent place for dog boarding. In fact, my wife and I are about to leave our two spoiled dogs there again for a two-week vacation, and I can relax knowing they are safe, cared for, and happy. Before finding Hidden Paradise, I always worried about leaving my dogs while traveling. They live on an acreage and are not heavily socialized, so boarding used to make me anxious. Over time, however, they have come to genuinely enjoy going there. Curt clearly understands dogs very well and gives them proper attention, structure, and care. One feature I especially appreciate is the video feed. Whenever I start missing them or feeling anxious, I can quickly check in and see that they are doing fine. Another huge advantage is the 24-hour pickup system. Flight schedules and delays can be unpredictable, and it is extremely convenient knowing I can pick up my dogs whenever I return as long as I follow the simple instructions Curt provides. Curt has a difficult job caring for people’s beloved pets while their owners are away, and I think he does an excellent job balancing safety, socialization, and individual dog needs. My dogs have been around other unfamiliar dogs there many times, and I have never had an issue. Curt seems very experienced at understanding which dogs interact well together and managing them appropriately. Here are the main reasons I continue to choose Hidden Paradise: 1) 24-hour video access and pickup flexibility — perfect for travel delays and peace of mind. 2) Clean, practical environment designed for dogs’ wellbeing. Curt has clearly built a kennel focused on what works best for dogs rather than just appearances for owners. It is clean, calm, well-lit, and thoughtfully designed. 3) Indoor/outdoor kennels and exercise areas that help my dogs stay active, reduce anxiety, and socialize while I am away. 4) Curt’s advice and experience. He has been very helpful in teaching me how to better prepare my dogs for boarding and travel. He explains what to bring, what not to bring, and how to make the stay easier on the dogs. His experience is valuable if you are willing to listen and learn. I know there are a few negative reviews out there, but this is my honest experience after years of using Hidden Paradise: no one will ever care for your dogs exactly the way you do as an owner, but I truly believe Curt does his best to care for every dog safely and professionally. Dogs are living animals, and situations can happen anywhere, but I have always felt that Curt genuinely cares and works hard to provide a safe and positive environment. For me, Hidden Paradise gives me peace of mind when I travel, and that is worth a lot.
It's the perfect place for our border collie. We love that there are indoor/outdoor kennels so she can go in or out as she chooses. There are cameras that you can access at any time and it's fun to watch our dog play with the other dogs. There is plenty of space in the yard for the dogs to run. The 24/7 drop off/pick up is so convenient and the staff is very friendly. Our dog has stayed here several times and we will continue to bring her here whenever we need to travel.
So, been coming to HPPR on and off for the last couple of years and would like to say a few things. 1. Constantly communicating with me on my elderly pup. 2. Added a few things to make him more comfortable in his old age 3. Read some comments about it smelling like urine... it smells like a dog kennel. Didn't see piles of feces or puddles of urine. Doesn't smell unusual. 4. Small local business man, Kurt, doing his thing. Friendly and caring. Worth the money paid. No frills like some other places, but also doesn't cost me 100 plus per day for the frills 5. Has cameras so you can check on your kids.
Boarded my dog here several times and had the same experience, a great one! Owner is a very caring and kind man. Takes very good care of my dog and very cautious of his property to protect the animals, which makes you feel so safe leaving your pets there. Most times I have to leave my dog before or after hours and he’s very accommodating.
My dog was boarded here for a month while I was away out of the country and we got her back in horrible, dirty, not to mention injured also with what look to be a patch of skin torn from under her eye; possibly from a fight with another dog. I wasn’t able to see her on the cameras like we were told, paid over 500 for the time she was there, which means you’d think that’d be enough to keep her in good care. Instead the owner failed to do so. Unfortunately we were left wondering, stressed, and confused. When confronted about the big gash she has on her face, which obviously looks like she was bitten by another dog under his care, he blamed the dog for why she came back to us like this and tried his hardest to give bs explanations as to why he shouldn’t be held accountable. No animal should have to go through whatever she went through while staying here.
