Pooch In the City

We highly recommend Pooch in the City. We started using their services in 2009 soon after they opened and have continued ever since except for a brief break following Hurricane Harvey. Their team has helped us with our Golden Retrievers over the years, including one elderly dog that needed special attention, including back problems needing gentle care. They are wonderful people, personal, accommodating, careful with our precious dogs and skilled in every respect. Our dogs always come home looking like show dogs!!

I will be a lifelong customer of pooch in the city. It is so hard to find a groomer who listens to the needs of the client, does an amazing job, and loves the pups so well. I’ve boarded here as well, and it’s a fantastic experience every time. Susana is so kind and understanding and helps Daisy feel at home - she is anxious on the way to the groomer but she’s bright and happy by the time I pick her up. I would highly recommend pooch in the city!

Used this service for a few years with our golden retrievers. They always did a great job of performing the service and our dogs always looked great afterwards! Day-of communication was also good. I was disappointed to bring our dogs there earlier this year for a routine haircut, and at check-out find out that "their prices went up". It was a pretty significant (~25%) jump. That had never been mentioned before when I booked the appointment or when I dropped the dogs off, nor was there any mention of it on their website, on their social media, or anywhere on the wall inside the salon. It honestly felt like I was being stolen from. It was also a little tricky setting up appointments with them -- they fill up quickly, so I would book 6-8 weeks out. The schedule seems to be kept on a physical desk calendar on the front desk. I usually had to reach out 1-2 days ahead of time to confirm that our dogs were still on the schedule -- it would have been nicer if there were some sort of reminder a few days beforehand that also served as a confirmation that they were still expecting my dogs. Following the price increase, I've sought out groomers that are more in line with what I was paying them on the first several visits. Would recommend that the owners take a more proactive approach to communication all-around.

I have been taking all my dogs to pooch in the city for more than 10 years. They have always been so professional and do such an amazing job with my pups haircut. They are wonderful!

We go here on a regular basis. The groomers are so nice and take care of our babies with such care. We were afraid they would have to shave our miniature labradoodle due to being matted but instead they took the time to remove each knot in order to save us the embarrassment. Lol. Would definitely HIGHLY recommend! :)
